Verizon Data Center Coming to WNY?

She actually lives in Amherst. She’s suing because her empty 118 acre lot might have something built across the street from it.

Someone should hang both her and her lawyer from one of those Niagara apple trees.

She’ll end up settling for a quick buck and some of that free power and go away. At least that’s how these things usually work.

yeah, she’s just pissed that she will not be able to spilt the land up and sell to home developers with these buildings across the street.

Anyone know if all positions at Verizon are union?

I don’t know if national datacenter falls outside of their union

If it was an area worth living it wouldn’t matter though…

depending on what your looking for in life/place to live - the area is VERY worth living in. (i live down the street from the proposed site) however dont confuse that statement with me agreeing with the suit - shes retarded and is only in it for a quick buck - and with the power plant right there, it wouldnt make a fuckin difference anyways.

But, my purpose for the bump is, has anyone heard anything on this? both the lawsuit and the plans to move forward?

I’m not quite sure you understood my intentions. You might live down the street from the proposed site and enjoy the area but are there million dollar homes in the area? Does land sell for over 1 mil/acre? All I meant from my statement was if that area was a booming hot spot she would be able to pawn her 118 acres off to any builder as people would still buy regardless of the data center sitting out their front door, but since it’s in the middle of nowhere that’s not the case so she’s suing.

Judge tosses out the lawsuit against the data center

In a 40-page decision issued this morning, Acting State Supreme Court Judge Judge Matthew J. Murphy III rejected every objection brought by the owner of property across the road from the proposed data center site.

The civil suit challenged the manner in which town officials approved the project, alleging that corners were cut in the environmental review process.

Murphy disagreed.

So did Somerset Supervisor Richard J. Meyers.
