The oem usb cable is a joke…Just go to ebay and buy at 15’ usb cable for $1.99 instead.

Once you mount the phone as a storage device, you should be able to transfer files from your computer. long click on a sound file like a mp3 song and you will have the option to use it as a ringtone.
