Verizon FIOS outage

Yeah fuck Time Warner, I hated their services when I had them. Its nice out so I don’t mind this outage.

I’m just surprised Verizon or any company would let a multi day outage like that happen.

I know any time something like that came close with TWC directors were pwning staff, vendors, whoever to get it fixed.

I called Verizon, theyre giving me movie channels for 3 months free lol.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but… they offer that promotion all the time. I used to sign up and unsubscribe right before the 3 month window ended. Wait a few weeks then rinse and repeat.

How do you check for promos, I’m too lame, ghey, poor, stupid, etc (you pick) to subscribe to any.

Oh, I know. I just haven’t asked for a while and figured now was a good time.

Intraweb is rockin … no cable … we called yesterday and they are knocking 10 bucks off a month for the next year … im gonna tell my wife to call again and tell them we want 20 off now cause they said it would be back by noon today

Internets is super slow for me right now in Tonawanda. FiOS TV is fine.

++ Long outages just where unacceptable at TWC, and whats worse is the phone tools have no answers for you at VZ.

My DVR box came back but my non DVR boxes are still borked.

If the tech was right on the phone and this outage started friday (granted didn’t affect everyone) but it has lasted well over 24hrs that is not acceptable and should never be accepted.

Anyone else Fios Internet acting like a fucking dog? Only pulling 300-450 kb/sec from newsgroups right now, plus downloads are dog slow.

All my scheduled newsgroup stuff downloaded last night just fine but I don’t see anywhere in sabnzbd to see what speed it downloaded at.

23meg down 25 up on speedtest.net, which is what I get for my 39.99/month.

18/21.5, it wouldn’t even load yesterday…

Still down, my 25/25 is dragging, and currently on hold.

call them, jamming some paperwork on hold, they reset both my boxes remotely, back in business.

I found these instructions on the fios Forum last night. It would have been nice if they could have given this information when people were calling in. When I called on Saturday they said there was nothing they could do.

There will be a global refresh performed on all STBs but for now the you can perform the update from the STB - please note this could take up to an hour due to server traffic.

Solution from the STB

Press Menu >> Customer Support >> In Home Agent >> STB/DVR Auto Correct
Select all STBs by pressing 1 or the select the STB/DVR having the issue and then press Right Arrow button for NEXT then Right Arrow button again to start process.

****it will take up to 8 or so minutes to resolve and it will say “Loading” for some time - the circle icon will not spin
*** if you get an error when accessing STB/DVR Auto Correct - EXIT to live TV and repeat process above

From what I understand, this is essentially the same thing the tech’s were doing remotely. It took less than ten minutes, fixed both of my stb’s.
