it’s a pin in the PCM thats switched ground. basically ground that pin and you’ll use the perf shift tables. i leave mine grounded all the time and just play with those tables
remember shift points and the time your shift completes are 2 different things. always take for granted the fact that it takes a couple hundred RPMs for your shift to complete. for example on my car, 1st gear winds out quick (3.29s) and my clutches are worn so my car will actually rev 400-500 RPMs between the beginning of the shift and it’s completion. i have my shift points low purposely for this. 1-2 still completes at 6500 but it’s set much lower
knowing this will help with issues with valve float or having your rev limiter/fuel cutoff set too low. when i first set my shift points where i wanted them the 1-2 would bang the rev limiter and i didn’t know why, i had it set higher than the shift point but it wasn’t high enough.
^Great stuff. My Regal shifts 2-300 RPM over the set shift point too. My Monte Carlo is about ~100 higher. 6200-6400 RPM shifts with the turbo spooling should be good fun.
Got the car fired up today. Seems to idle smooth, but got a lot of misfires on #2. I will be swapping wires, checking plug, and checking injector connection tomorrow. Hopefully have it buttoned up enough for short drive tomorrow.
wow very sweet! you see that w-bodystore has some CNC heads up on their page? $1000 no core charge.
I’m wondering if i should do those or go full size IC. I’m thinking intercooler still, i was working on my own heads but that got put on the back burner
No cam as of yet, just 1.84 roller rockers. I did read that alot of 3800 turbo guys have some misfires at idle due to the plugs and gap. I imagine that would end up being on all cylinders rather than my problem of one cylinder though.
I drove it home today from the shop and have it about 1/2 the beans to 8psi and it is a different car. I can tell already it will break loose in second on the street tires if I push on it too hard
Just need to work on some bugs and get everything ironed out.
yeah it will take some time to get everything going good. if you can’t find the source of the miss just start swapping shit around and see if it moves. you may just have a weak coil or something
