Video Card Suggestions for CAD/Games

Right now i have a Geforce fx 5500, AGP, video card. I just installed the newest versions of solidworks and wildfire on my computer. When i start sketching, i get an error and both programs close. I changed solidworks to use OpenGL and i can actually use the program now. Someone told me my video card was the problem. Also i have been getting back into some games and my card can barely handle some of the newest stuff.

So i want to upgrade my card. I was looking into some quadro and geforce cards. I heard quadro is more for cad and the geforce is more of a gaming card. I just wan’t to be able to do both with no problems and have a card that i won’t have to replace for a while. Im looking to spend around $200 if possible??

nvidia quadro, while mostly a higher end workstation card, im sure u can play games on it also

assuming you want an AGP card, this one would do you good and it’s pretty cheap

My 7800 runs solidworks great  The quadros are nice, but can get uber expensive

i run 2 quadro FX 3400’s in SLI, run games just fine

I run one of these in my machine at work and it works great.
