I quoted a local guy with a cbx $400 to ultrasonic clean and rebuild his carbs and he said he’d be in touch as soon as he had the money…I guess there’s a guy in cali that charges $700 for the same service on cbx carbs lol.

I don’t think it’s spam, I think it’s an elderly guy that’s been doing 450’s his entire adult life and doesn’t know how to email pictures…and would rather do things the old fashioned way by speaking on the phone and having you come see his stuff in person…which honestly is the way something like this should go for bikes/parts of this vintage. pictures simply are not sufficient.

the owner of the gs450 is the landlord where I rent my shop. I know for a fact there is wiggle room on that price, and it’s super worthwhile. I’ve never seen another in person.

True, that could be the case. I guess im just used to the constant CL scammers “Please provide me with your name, security #, serial #, height, weight etc”

That’s why I have a google voice account. I give out the google voice number for CL contacts and if that number starts getting spam calls then I log in to google voice and swap it for a fresh number and repeat as needed.
