BUYER MUST BE 21 YEARS OLD TO PURCHASE.
not like some kid can afford some louis anyway, ha!
Vintage, unopened bottle of Louis XIII. E-mailed photographs to Remy Martin to confirm authenticity and got this response:
You effectively have a rare bottle of Rémy Martin Cognac . This blend is
the ancestor of our most prestigious cognac
Louis XIII de Rémy Martin, Grande Champagne Cognac. Extra old eaux-de-vie
have been selected, all coming from the best sought after cru, situated at
the heart of the Cognac region, the Grande Champagne. Three generations of
cellarmasters have been working to produce this single decanter.
Today, we sell this cognac in the same hand blown Crystal decanter.
This Cognac has been distributed in the USA by the company Joseph H.
Renfield inc., our distributors there, between 1950 and 1977. Your
decanter bearing a label mentioning Renfield, it should date back to this
period of time.
Louis XIII de Rémy Martin do come up in auctions. Over the last 20 years we
have had records of transactions up to 3000 $ for such rare bottles.
I hope that you can understand however that it is difficult for us to give
a precise value to your bottle.
I’ve had this stuff before at my buddies buddies bar. It goes down sooooo smooth! I got 3 shots for free … I was told I could do shots of anything and the same bottle was on the top shelf and I thought it looked interesting and he let me do shots from it …
doubt it. there are other cognacs in similar looking bottles. nobody in their right mind, buddy or not, is going to give you three shots of that for free.
which is unfortunate; the little pamphlet that comes with the box includes a wonderful tale of how they found the decanter, and how if one is lucky the following generation will live to see their ancestors work (the cognac) finally ready to be consumed. It’s a decades long process
