Vinyl Cutter

I think i’m going to pick up a vinyl cutter and and few other thingsto go along with it I found a guy that is getting out of it and is selling everything fairly cheap and was wondering if anyone thinks this a good side bussiness to get into to make some extra loot and if anyone would be interested in purchasing stuff like stickers and signs for bussiness ect. any feedback would be greatly app.

Yes it’s good biz… You know how f’n many pittspeed.com stickers are made?! A hell of a lot. Ask starboy, he’ll tell you. But uh, when you start cuttin em I’m gonna need one made.

Its hard to make money selling vinyl. Its not a big margin product until you get into making big signs/stickers. I know the pittspeed stickers are a bitch to the guy that makes them for me. it takes some time making sure everything is perfect and then weeding them all out. Depending on the initial investment of the equip it might be a good idea. But remember there is a ton of time involved in making stickers.

When Starboy and I did all the stickers for the pinks car. It took us about 8 hours just to get everything cut out. We wasted a ton of material too. Tim was doing the weeding while we were cutting. So we had 3 people to make all of those stickers and it still took us 8 hours. We probably used 100+ in materials too.

weeding mass quanties of stickers sucks ass

specially if there small and with serifs n stuff on themm

Talk to Keith about it /\ He’ll be glad to share stories (and sell you the gear)… the small car stickers are fun, but it’s the big stuff that makes the money… and to do the really big stuff you end up needing fancier and fancier equipment, like plotters that print before the cut…

Hes a good guy…he did some sign work for circuit city awhile back with the machine. seemed to turn out some good sticker work.

Yeah this is the same guy I was going to buy off of and was wondering if it would even worth it I don’t want to buy it and only make a little money off of it I want it to pay for itself and make some money I know it wont be alot just wondering if it was worth my time or should I invest in something else?

And if I got it would any of the shops be interested in me making them stickers or even the board?

:hsugh:

It takes patience and a steady hand plus you have to be crafty.

If I had the extra cash laying around I would have already bought it. I had a small 15" roland years ago, bought it new and it paid its self off in less than 6 weeks, just selling stickers at the flea market one day a week.

It’s like any other small business, that isn’t your primary job. You gotta bust your ass, make a little oney, and do the stuff that others dont want to do.

Weeding is only as hard as you make it. Use the sofware that comes with it to pay off the investment then buy Vinyl Master Pro. It makes the weeding, and graphic layer a breeze.

You want to know more about it give me a call…
