Vista and internet problems

My laptop has Vista on it. Everything was working just fine, then for some reason one day it decided to stop loading Firefox and IE. AIM still works though, so i still have internet coming in. I tried the windows connection fixer-uper thing and it says it could not find any problems with the connection. I ran my Symantec Client Security scan and it came up with nothing. any suggestions?

firefox or IE don’t load, or a site doesn’t load within them?

If AIM works, but not a site, usually DNS issue.

Make sure your DNS server is setup to obtain auto.

Just follow instructoins for the DNS part.

Then i’d check your hosts file, make sure nothing generic is in there blocking all traffic.

If those fail, i’d install adaware or spybot and run a full scan.

If your not familiar with hosts file, then just try the adaware first maybe.
