Vista Users - Trim the Fat

vLite allows users to preselect numerous Vista features for automatic removal prior to installing the OS on their personal computers. Among them: Windows Media Player, Windows Photo Viewer, MSN Installer, Wallpapers, SlideShow, Windows Mail and other utilities.

Other than windows mail I use all those programs.

Maybe if people weren’t such cheap bastards and kept trying to install the latest and greatest programs and OS’s on their old POS computers they wouldn’t have so many problems.

I’ve been running Vista business edition at work for almost 2 months now, 5 days a week, 8 hours a day with all the eye candy turned on (even aero). No problems once I turned off the “allow/disallow” nanny. But I got a nice new 3.4ghz machine with 2gb of ram and a 250gb drive. Nothing ground breaking, but it’s current.

pretty cool if you’re just into running the bare bones

true. Vista actually runs quicker on my new machine than XP did on my old machine, which wasn’t exactly a slouch either for it’s time (2ghz AMD64, 2gb memory and 256mb 7800GS video card).

Honestly, I don’t get why so many people complain about it. It looks great, has a lot of really nice features and haven’t had any stability problems. I’ve had the machine running for the past 2 weeks, without a reboot and runs flawlessly.
