Alright I know some of you are going to say go back to xp but i like vista better.
what are some things i can do to make open of things faster, startup and shutdown faster, less processes, etc…?
I use Tune up Utilites 2009 for cleaning and defragmenting.
Did you try Windows 7? That OS kicks ass…(so far)

If youre not running XP, you should run Windows 7. Vista isnt really good at doing anything.
well will i have to re download everything, like photoshop, virus, etc…?
Overall, Windows 7 is better in many aspects.
In other word, I think Windows 7 is what Vista originally meant to be. :lol:
Windows 7 is Vista with XP resource requirements. It’s less memory/resource hungry. I’ve tried 7 out a little bit but I’m waiting for the actual OS not the beta to be released. From what I hear some time in June/July
so wait for the full release, and stick with vista for now.
You dont need any virus protection of any kind, and yes you should wipe the hard drive and do a full reinstall. Save anything you want of course.
Windows 7 Beta runs better than Vista SP1 ever will. I would never consider running Vista, but I plan on running Windows 7 when SP1 comes out for it. But im running XP Pro x64 right now, so my OS is rock solid. If I had Vista, i would switch to Windows 7 ASAP, its far superior.
