Vizio TV's?

Spend an extra $400 and buy a nice tv. Thanks.

If I had kids, i’d put 32" Vizio’s in their rooms. On anything I have to watch, its going to be a Samsung or Sony. (Dependent on whether its LCD or Plasma)

Essentially… you have people who want a TV.

Do you want a flat panel like everyone else?
Do you want 1080P… so you can say it is a 1080P TV? (Even though you do not have a 1080P source)
Do you want plasma or LCD… and I don’t even want to hear the argument here.

It boils down to how “good” of a TV you want. I was clearly a fan of the Vizio because it is a “good” tv. A great TV for the price.

When someone chimed in talking about better TVs… that is where money is no object. Someone who wants a “great” tv… better have some money for the damn thing. If you want to argue about real world… and not being able to see a difference… blah blah blah… those arguments are just silly. You have no idea what kind of source I’m running to the TV, or where the TV is (livingroom in the sun or basement in total darkness) or what the purpose of the TV is or will be.

People need to shop for what they can afford, what they need and what they want. There is a good tv for every room and wallet, and it is much more involved than saying 1 tv is better than the other… unless you actually compare the specs and the value for that person.

The answer is - YES - The Vizio is a good tv. You can’t really argue that. I’ve seen enough to know they are great in some scenarios.

Ps - If you’re an audiophile, you give two shits for what audio came with the tv… lol.

thank you. that was needed.

it’s not about cheap vs. expensive… it’s about value point… the cheapest possible TV is not usually the value point… a couple hundred more gets you a lot better TV.

By snipping what I said… and then restating it… I think they get the point.

I am willing to bet that 90% of the TV “experts” on here would not be able to tell the difference between the vizio and a more expensive brand if they were not right next to each other. If you put an Elite sticker on the Vizio they would be pointing out how great the picture is.
I feel the same way about TVs as I do about cars. If you like it then buy it. I do not feel the need to buy something just to impress someone else with it.

and if I blindfolded you and moved you into a room with bob marley playing and the thermostat turned up you’d think you’d think you were in Jamaica too, right?

Only if it smelled like weed too.

Jamaica smells like sewage.

And Bob Marley smells like dead people.

I bet you could never tell the difference unless you had a turd and a dead person side by side

Just went with my buddy to Best Buy and picked up a 40" Toshiba 1080 LCD for $750. Which is perfect for his mom.

Awesome deal.

So the 120hz is extremely noticeable after further review. Its not as apparent when watching ESPN 24/7…but for every movie its very obvious. Looks good.

I am not sold on the 120hz. I notice it pretty easy and its great for my Xbox but when watching standard cable or a dvd through my xbox, faster scene seems to skip sometimes. For example, the standard definition of The Dark Knight I put in my xbox last night and the first scene where they are walking through the bank, the guys walking has a great effect on it but the scene sometimes seems to skip.

I also need to figure out why I get wave lines on my TV when going from my laptops HDMI port to my TV at 1080p.

I really wanna get a true 1080p source hooked up and see what the deal is and hope its just the sources that are screwing it up.
