Vizio TV's?

I need to call DirecTV and see how much it is to get a new reciever. My house has 5 of the tiny little boxes so I am using the co-ax from the box to the tv and it looks like shit.

I just bought a Samsung LN46A650 and have yet to notice the 120hz difference.

Is there much a difference between the A650, A750, and 850? I know that the 850 is thinner and twice as much but is that about it?

All have the touch of red right?

How can you not? Anyone who has seen it has noticed it. All motion is smoother, even on my shitty dtv->analog in on the tv.

home theater threads on here make me wanna kill myself.

no

stop posting.

As stated, i’m not suprised the most expensive TV @ BB looks the best, assume what you wish.

If BB carried runco and B&O, what do you think they would look like vs a elite? Reviews point toward an elite, but do you think a store wants a $5k tv exceeding a $20k tv?

The stores use shit equipment, you can read reviews about model A far exceeding model B, but when you get to one of these stores, your eyes tell you opposite of what online reviews say, so you purchase opposite of reviews and get home and the picture will look “great” but what are you now comparing it to???

Oh, because your one post on this subject, is just sooo informing.

Elites are great TVs, but you can save yourself several thousand dollars and get a good sony or samsung… The best $5k elite today is a good $2k samsung/sony of tomorrow.

no, they actually own a 26" sony. they aren’t much for tv’s. i have an ISF calibrated panasonic, so don’t think this is some fan boy speak. if you think that an elite compares to a $2000 sony, you’re doing it wrong.

In the real world, a $2k sony will do just fine vs a $5k elite, IMO.

I’d rather have 2-3 TVs around the house for the price of the one elite. I do not watch blu-ray, therefore the awesome 1080p is irrelevant for me. Real world is 480’s, 720p and 1080i for all providers at this time. In those resolutions, everyday use, i do not see a need to waste $3-4k more for a TV. The difference in quality on these tvs setup on TWC/dish/DTV/fios isn’t a $3-4k justification for me anyway.

Now, in the spec world, review world, yes elite > sony/pan/samsung, etc. noone can argue that. Just adding my two cents about real world use…

As for on subject, the quality of a good sam/sony/pan vs vizio is 100% justified and worth it.

i think the resolution is irrelevant. everyone makes a 1080P television. the 3k difference to me is justified in color accuracy and black levels. if i was going to spend 3 to 4 grand on a tv tomorrow, i’d have a hard time deciding between and elite and a panasonic 800 or 850 series.

yeah, and if I was gonna buy a $100k sports car I would have a hard time deciding between the porsche and ferrari.

you can only justify the $3k, if you have that much to spend…

wat?

jabbu - In the real world… the Elite is still a fucking awesome TV. Not everyone is poor.

:lol:

word. next year is either going to be a 58" panasonic, 60" elite, or a motorcycle. or none. i guess it depends on how finances fall into place next year.

Its probably much easier to see side by side. I dont have a tv right next to it for comparison.

And the main difference between the 650 750 850 is contrast ratios i believe. I think you can buy them in solid black, but most have a touch of red. Mine does. Looks cool.

no.
650= 120hz processing
750= same, but ethernet jack, better audio, and a slightly thinner frame
850= same, but really thin
950= LED backlit.

there’s now a touch of color blue also, but i think it’s only on the 850 or the 950. i can’t honestly remember. as for the 650, 750, and 850, being specifically offered in black, i don’t know about that.

So if you are going to have a wall of different TVs in your house then get the Elite. Otherwise you can’t tell the difference.

if you can’t see the benefit of owning a nice tv, don’t waste your money on one.
