anyone know anything about turbo’s on volvo’s. my sis has a 98 s70 and something on the turbo is leakin and its using a quart every two weeks. anyone rebuild them or have a good used one? a reman is like 600 or so and i was just seeing if there was a cheaper solution.
also its the GLT 199horse turboed s70 not the t5.

I’ve seen a lot of oil leaks from the oil return lines on those models. Oil feeds like to leak on them too. To be honest, your best bet is to completely degrease the area, take the car out and get in the boost, then check to see where the leak is originating. Oil leaks are always a problem on those models.
my dad said there was oil in the pipe from the IC to the intake but its not enough to make it smoke through the tail pipe. he checked the return line and its dry.
if no oil around he turbo, and some blow by in the i/c piping-- i wouldnt worry about it. however, i woudl change the oil feed and drains for both oil and coolant. those have a shelf life of 50k miles iirc. then they should be changed w/ maintence.
now if the seals are shot in the turbo, u will have a smoke screen coming out of the tail pipe.
