Thats my point Shawn, Trav and Fizzle … thats where you want your increased taxes going. YOU CLEARLY understand all the “create a fund” plans Obama has right. Dividend taxes, that must effect you hard. Cap gain taxes effects us all… I’m not talking pennies here, Im talking a lifes wealth.
Let me give you a real world set of examples: I’ll share, why not.
My mother is 70, she had about 350k in stocks. She decided to cash them in and pay current tax rates than wait a year or 2 for the bush cuts to expire and Obama taxes to become implimented. MANY people are doing this. MANY are selling real estate to pay current cap gains taxes… so electing Obama hurt the housing further and isnt helping the stock market picture.
Become a member of some investment forums and see what people with income and wealth (often slowly earned over a lifetime) are doing.
Increasing taxes on ionvestments never works well…especially to give to a social community who will not economically grow for generations with a work insentive.
Just a few thoughts, not a manifesto.
