Did my post in any way seem persuasive? I’m not trying to change thoughts, just pointing out facts.
I could do that easily, but the government will soon decide to take my money, take a cut, and pass them check around monthly anyway.
At the Albany-Colonie chamber meeting the other day, Our favorite local Democrat McEnemy gave his goodbye homily and when he tried to pump the crowd with Obama talk, the place was rather quiet… did he forget he was talking to business owners?
I have cut staff, slowed projects and begun to hold cash… and JClark and i decided against the Stacker purchase… when folks and small business owner’s do this, it will have a profound , if not lasting, economic effect.
Bottom line is, when the Bush tax cuts are repealed, the new Obama taxes are levied on prosperous people and businesses, there will be a ripple effect. Who benefits? Need I point that out?
From those with ability to those with need. I’m a capitalist, and to a degree, enjoy Darwinism (See Travis), and think hard work and excellence should be rewarded.
Working hard and being rewarded is key.
The only problem I have is that for the last almost decade, there is a definate seperation. The middle class has gotten screwed. That’s a bit different than give to the poor welfare whom do nothing for themselves.
That’s the funniest line of bullshit I have seen today… I’m moderately surprised you feel this way, and happy about that… but those that worked hard the past 10 years were well rewarded. Look at the trucks of any tree guy, landscaper or roofer… the list goes on and on and on. There is more separation from the poor and well off…cause the well off worked hard and some portions of the poor chose not too.
That said, I do really recognize that there is a large contingent of hard working Americans that didn’t excel the way they would have liked to. GIVING them a check will not help… The taxes on those folks are not out of line, and often net close to zero (45% of Americans do not pay income taxes) . Reality is that those capable of hard work should do so…and they will live in the greatest country with the greatest freedoms and wealth on earth. Those that can not work are taken care of to a point, I know this well, as most of my tenants receive assistance/// and many live in a nice place, especially in comparison to those in other countries. No one ever said we should all live equally, this country is not yet socialist or communist.
We have a fundamental difference of ideology. While you may not be a bleeding heart, I certainly have compassion…so how are we so far apart??? I’m a Capitalist and your much more social.
Obama is a lying scumbag and twists and spins better than the previous master, Bill Clinton. At least Clinton wasn’t leaning social… this is a dramatic turn for America led by the left most people ever to have reached this level in politics.
It’s a perfect storm, and Obama and his followers are almost cult like at this point. The man has magic, no doubt, I just hate to see his success in spreading that magic dust of change into the bloodstreams of today’s young Americans. There is truly a lack of understanding in my opinion.
:umm
Really? What planet do you live on?
Let’s take a look at what’s different.
The housing market puked.
The cost of gas has skyrocketted
The economy on the verge of collapsing
Unemployment rate on the rise (U.S. Unemployment Rate Forecast)
The cost of groceries has increased
The US Dollar is at an all-time low
Want me to continue? My old man worked his balls off at Kodak for 30+ years and he was laid off. So, who exactly is reaping these rewards you speak of?
You mean people like McCain with 13 cars and 9 houses?
Given your logic, since I am not “well off” than I didn’t work hard? I work 60 hours a week and Crystal works more so I guess we need to put in the Jammer type hours? Please.
Isn’t that what McCain’s health insurance plan is going to do?
I understand and agree with this. However, you seem to live in a different country where the middle class was rewarded the last 8 years.
The big picture is that we have seen dramatic increases (in the percentage of income for the top 1 percent) over the last couple decades," said Emmanuel Saez, professor of economics at University of California and a co-author of the study.
Bottom line, says Gary Burtless, a senior fellow in economic studies at the Brookings Institution, the bottom 99 percent fared better under the Clinton administration than they did under Bush. Under Clinton, the very rich got richer, as they have under Bush. The difference is that under Clinton, the average salary for the bottom 99 percent increased from $35,500 to nearly $42,000; while under Bush the average salary for the bottom 99 percent has actually gone down $1,100.
Just how much data do you want to support this? Again. This isn’t just about GWB but a trend that has occcured for decades. But, pile on the buying power of the American dollar and the economy/housing situation, then you got a nice mixture of a shit burger for the American middle class.
Obama is a lying scumbag and twists and spins better than the previous master, Bill Clinton.
Reality: They all lie. It’s hilarious that a GOP supporter brings up Democratic lies given the campaign smearing and scandals you guys have been apart of. Hell, I won’t even bring up the ridiculous number of GOP scandals during this Administration. But, let’s just keep it to this campaign.
Let’s point out some McCain/Palin lies/spins:
- Obama and Ayers (http://realclearpolitics.blogs.time.com/2008/10/06/obama_camp_challenging_mccain/)
- Palin’s Trooper Gate scandal
- "McCain rang the bell on Freddie/Fannie. Actually, that was done a year previous by Nebraska Republican Chuck Hagel
- Palin lied about her trip to Iraq. Perhaps an honest mistake given she doesn’t know what the VP does  I won’t count that
- Lied about nor receving an earmark
- Social Security Privatization (McCain Lies About Social Security Privatization | HuffPost Latest News)
- McCain Lied about his own economic knowledge (http://thinkprogress.org/2008/07/02/mccain-dodge-economics/) This is especially interesting given the current time. Did you read how strongly he said he never said that? :lol
- McCain lied about his voting record (News, Politics, Sports, Mail & Latest Headlines - AOL.com)
- McCain misrepresenting Obama’s tax proposals (http://thinkprogress.org/2008/09/15/kelly-bounds-taxes/) BTW, that’s FOX NEWS that called out TUCKER. :lol
I still don’t understand how the hell McCain is so far down in the polls against a black man with socialist views with supposed ties to terriorists/voting scandals.
But, let me make myself clear. I am not a socialist liberal like you think I am. I hate GWB. I hate Cheney. I hate Karl Rove. I think McCain is old. I think Palin is retarded. I think Obama is highly intelligent but lacks experience. I think all politicans lie. I think Iraq War is an agenda accelerated by 9/11. I also think it was a HUGE mistake.
I believe in Darwinism. I have no sympthy for welfare that don’t make efforts to help themselves. I am all for same sex marriage and abortion and anything else that is not my fucking business. Let the fags marry.
I care about the middle class. I am tired of seeing friends work their asses off and don’t better themselves while the rich are getting richer.
But, anyhow. Don’t worry, in a few days, you might see a landslide. But, whatever happens. I still love ya man. If Obama wins, send that check my way.
wow you care way too much if you typed all that
so in short…you WANT the gov. to control business? history repeats itself, we are not in the clear. Beating us down untill we have no fight left and making it seem turning to them for help? hmmm sound familiar? lower dollar value, higher prices on needs, slowly taking over by regulating everything…
ya im not down by gov controlling anyone’s business or messin with the rich, lower and middle class can kiss my ass
I don’t recall stating I want the Gov’t to do anything. Please show me where I said that? Both McCain and Obama have said they want reform for Wall Street and the Housing market. Hell, McCain spent a lot of effort to say (and Palin pushing it during the VP Debate) that McCain rang the bell on Fannie/Mac and reform should have been done. What’s your thought on this? That’s right. The “Deregulator” wants to “regulate”. It’s funny how this is overlooked.
But, I don’t think it should be completely Gov’t regulated but some reform/regulation appear to be necessary given the disgusting greed by those two sectors. It didn’t matter if the people couldn’t afford the mortgage as they were getting paid. Fault resides on both the people (for being so stupid to think that they can afford a $400K+ house while making $40K a year) and the companies for exploiting them.
Of course I care. I live in this Country. I just know what I can and cannot control. But, we all should be informed or have some sort of knowledge about these events.

dont buy a fuckin house if u can’t afford it !
