seems very cost effective

that’s sweet

i love the resell value of the phaeton.

good job VW.

woooow thats nice!

yea, i just checked ebay motors, 50k mile cars 100k new, mid 40’s after 2 years

Ive seen these pictures before, they were posted on another board. I think Mike (MPD47) posted up a link at one point.

If I had to imagine what it would look like…

That would be it.

wow. Do you have a link to theese pics with descriptions. Particularly the tunnels of lights.

Wow. A model of inefficiency, but cool.

While they didn’t sell very well in the US they are extremely nice cars and are a steal for what You can pick them up for. It just doesn’t have the name so it doesn’t sell well. They do like them alot more in other areas of the world enough that the cars just received a face lift.

With a new face

It’s been said that everyone roots for the underdog, and that’s true, unless the underdog was the VW Phaeton, which could never gain a foothold on this continent. The slow-selling rich people’s car landed on US shores with a resounding thud, as buyers didn’t know what to make of them and only select dealers could sell them. Now, VW spokesman Andreas Meurer revealed to Bloomberg News that the company plans to reintroduce its hard-luck sedan “when the next version goes on sale”, which more than likely means the next-generation Phaeton and not the 2008 refresh shown at Geneva.

Phaeton. You’re not just buying a luxury car. You’re buying an absurd amount of overhead.

I’m too lazy to make/upload an actual motivational poster. You get the idea.

LOL

holy marketing blitz

that’s a cool factory, but what the hell is the point. Make the damn car w/o having to spend a ridiculous amount of money on hardwood floors and fancy shit that you don’t need in the plant.

i’m sure it didn’t drive up the cost of the car much at all. But it’s the principal I guess. wierd marketing scheme…

is that what the ford plant looks like?

Wow that place is kickass.

Holy Shit!

Willy Wonka and the Phaeton Factory.

No wonder they are soo expensive but that is awesome.

i think theyre pretty cool. my opinion - if they offered that engine in the Audi A8, they would sell more.
