No, you can melt the tar with a blow-torch. Propane tank and a big torch will set it.
I’ve heard lots of good things about that Sahlems company. Same with Murray roofing. Stiglmeier fucked up the roof at my workplace, I’d stay away from them.

Its not really if you can make the chemicals and rubber and such work, its if you don’t have snow or rain falling on ya when you do it.
