The price is due to resale value. They are the global standard in watches. I aggree on the simplicity of the watch they are nothing special. I wanted to ask you guys on a price that was offered to me on a Submarniner with 18k band. All stamps and weights are correct. It does not have papers unfortunately nor box etc. The quoted price is 3k. Is that a fair price?
Took a quick look at the bezel near the band pins it is there. The clasp is stamped an not scribed. This purchase is more of a diversifaction in investments than a timepiece that will be worn. I will let you guys
know how it works out in the next couple of weeks.
The next on my list will be a Movado…then i think i’ll be satisfied for a while. But these things are a damn addiction…i never saw myself into them, but then i got a good deal on the Invicta i originally posted…and now i want more.
I have a a few citizens, an invicta, boluva, and seiko. I want to get into something swiss at this point but not sure if i want to drop the $ right now, but got the itch. When i drop the $ i am looking into oris or ball watch, but i am wondering how tissot’s are to cure my itch for a new one? Anyone rock a tissot?
retail isnt a function of residual value, residual value is a loose function of retail.
i get the concept of brand equity, i just don’t see alot of value in the Rolex brand other than the actual brand.
Accuracy is not a value point on autos. obviously a 18k watch has higher value, i just cant get around double the price for a Rolex Sub (non-gold) vs. an Omega Seamaster since they are very similar pieces… except that the Omega has more dial arrangement options.
