i was in Seattle this week and there was an Omega boutique there. they had a 19/18mm Cordura strap in stock… it’s now mounted with one of my deployments on my Speedy… les tres satisfaction.
also scoped out a titanium B&R and a Portugeuse at a local jeweller out there… i will own one of them in Q2 2012 
The IWC Yacht Cub is redic… stainless version is like $12k… iono about that. but it’s got the date wheel which to me makes it hotter than a Daytona.

for resale / investment purposes i agree 100%. However, i find that IWC has a much more attractive dial configuration than the daytona.
neither of them are worth the money though.
the IWC will depreciate more and faster than the Daytona, which holds its value like a mutherfucker… so maybe you’ll be able to cop a yacht club for $6k after a while. Daytona’s you cant get for less than $8k even when they’re 10 years old and beat to shit.
I never got into the 3714 and feel the same way about the Yacht Club. I may have to take a bit of a hiatus from watches if I make a major purchase next week.

what size diameter is it?
another thing i worry about on these watches is the quality of the straps… i’ve gone through 2 leather straps that were old Omega straps, possible fakes before they numbered them and both fell apart with heavy use in less than 8 months. On something like this you want it not only yo not fall apart, you want it to look sharp all the time too.

My strap on my Omega was crap when I bought it. I will see what this one looks like and decide if it will need to be updated. But I like the look.

Hey, any advice for someone looking for a good used swiss made watch?
I’m tired of buying shitty watches and having them break, I’ll spend up to $1k for a used watch.

Hamilton and oris are great value. I think you found the right brands, just be careful with what you end up paying.
i recommend an ORIS F1 or anything with a Valjoux 7750 movement.
they go anywhere from $500 - $2000, watches with the 7750 but it’s teh chrono you want and it’s bullet proof.
My speedmaster with a modded 7750 movement is not nearly as reliable as my Oris with the standard 7750… the Oris goes in the ocean with me without being clean and it doesnt skip a beat. The Omega i’m afraid to get wet.
