Watch Crew: What to buy?

le sigh

The tell tale sign is that it was priced 75% off of what it would go for in the real world. (Think 2012 911 Turbo with 5k miles for $25,000…)

There are REALLY, REALLY good fakes out there. There are more fake rolexes in the world, than real ones. You can buy a $500 rep, that is almost indistinguishable from a real one. I wouldn’t recommend trying to get a “crazy deal” from someone other than an authorized retailer, or someone with some serious recommendations/references on a legit watch site (timezone, etc.)

I bought a fake 25 years ago on Yonge Street for about $20.00.

agreed here. with ebay (paying with paypal backed by a credit card) you have multiple layers of recourse as well.

if you want a good quality Rolex for under $4k i think you have to get comfy with an Air King / Date Just in 36-38mm and 15+ years old.

in the $5k - $7k range your options open right up though.

german company specializing in modifying rolex watches.

the site is really good. you can go to the watches and spec out some pretty crazy stuff

here is another: http://www.bamfordwatchdepartment.com/

and for sapphire casebacks for Rolex: http://www.customwatchconcepts.com/index.php?cPath=2_11

hey beck…

Worthless.

Might as well take your Lambo to West Coast Customs.

Bamford is such a joke imo.

Bought the “big” seiko 5 which was 42mm for Kenya

Swapped out the band after the trip and might give it to my bro for Christmas

once again huge thanks to Matt @95d16turbo at buffalo watch and clock for the work today…

sapphire caseback installed and pressure tested on my GMT II

it feels a bit different on the wrist. it’s not taller than the OE caseback but the sapphire slips less than the OE steel so it feels thicker or stickier…

man I really want to get a speedmaster and a nice rolex diver

Ok watch peoples, Ive been thinking about having my Tag SEL Chrono bracelet and case refinished. After 15+ years of wear all of the links looks the same (vs the alternating polished / brushed look).

Id considering tackling it myself but the bracelet seems like a bitch to take apart, and I really dont have the time to F with it with all my other projects.

Any ideas on who could do this and what it might cost?

Dan

talk to @95d16turbo and see if he can do it… they probably can.

i had the bracelet / case on my first Oris polished and it was pretty cool like that.

partial trade + cash for your 911?

Sounds good. It may be a little more involved as I need every other link polished, but Ill ask!

Dan

@juicedz4, just PMed you.

im listening…

You just can’t help yourself, can you? Haha, jesus.

Filthy pam000 with camouflage straps…

I’m thinking of picking up a Pepsi bezel diver… The Rolex is out of the question for now, as I’m not sure I’d wear a red blue watch enough to o warrant a 6k watch, but there are a ton of look alikes

Sooo, those in the know, would you buy an invicta auto, seiko auto, etc… Price point seems to be sub 200 if you buy it online… Other options?
