Yes it was, and while I would not describe it as incredible, it made you understand the character
If you and Andy say a movie sucked. It sucked.
Thanks for the info, the fact that they didn’t ‘soften’ rorshach is nice, his insanity is a great story.
damn, i have no prior knowledge of this but it looked sick, but i dont wanna see it after reading this thread
Reviews are in… the movie sucks.
Few die hard lovers of the novel I know went and saw it last night and said if you love the novel you will hate the movie because they change a bunch of things.
As stated on post 2, I have no intention to see this movie just wanted to add that. I’ll save my 30 bucks.

Well, I disagree with most everyone in this thread.
I hadn’t read the graphic novel before, however I do enjoy “comic” movies and I thought this one was spectacular. It does not contain the action of a spiderman or a batman; it is not a comic book movie intended to entertain adolescents. The majority of the film is based around dialogue and conceptual thought, something many people have just become too lazy to be bothered with. Short of the graphic Sin City type action and the smoking hot female lead, you aren’t instantly gratified. If you are willing to accept the movie and story for what it is, if you are willing to think about it, you’ll be rewarded with an appropriate and inevitable conclusion.
The storyline was very well developed even if it strayed from the original novel ( i am uncertain if it did or didn’t ). Anyone who claims the movie provides no character development should be immediately regarded as an idiot, as a majority of the film delves into the backstory of the main characters, with subtle clues hidden along the way which direct the plot along and provide ample foreshadowing of the forthcoming events.
Everyone is entitled to express their opinion; I liked it.
Good flick, little too much dong though.
hold on.
real dong?
but then there is real tits and ass?
hmm.
Fake cock, real tits and ass
any dong is bad dong. its was cgi or w/e but still wrong.
i went in with no prior knowledge and thought I understood it completely. It could have been a bit shorter but then the graphic novel humpers would hate. Wish I could get my $10 back and just have netflixed it, but w/e.

I read the graphic novel last week to get an idea of what the movie is about and after watching the movie I have to say they did one hell of a job. Their are some differences (1 major) but all in all it was a dead on interpretation. If you haven’t read the novel then it will take you another viewing to fully appreciate this movie. Artistically this is one of the best movies ever. The action scenes are awesome and Rorschach is the best. The movie is very long however but it had to be to get everything in.
The actors portrayed their characters perfectly and the movie is almost frame for frame in sync with the book. I’m assuming when this comes out on DVD that their will be a special extended edition which will only make this movie that much better.
Their is however too much blue cock.
I went and saw the movie last night, I have to say it pobably would have been okay if I read the book first. I was totally lost until 3/4 of the way thru. IMO not worth seeing in the theatre. The sex scene with the 80’s music was classic
+1
saw it last night, movie was damn good
I saw the movie last night and i had to walk out at the end. WTF, this movie shoulda been 1hr shorter and they easily coulda cut out all the boring shit. I couldnt seriously take the blue guy seriously with his dong showing all the time and the naked chip jupiter looked better with her clothes on but still worth looking at.lol uhmmm, so yea, id save the cash and wait for it on dvd then fast forward through half the movie.
can we get a fucking action movie that isn’t based on a stupid comic book already?
I saw this last night at IMAX. IMO, IMAX sucks and I don’t like viewing films in that format unless they are titled “Dinosaurs” or “Whales”.
My opinion of the film is that I liked it. I am familiar with the original story as I’ve read the book. I did notice that there were quite a few subplots and explanations that they cut, but overall the plot was pretty close. I prefer the ending in the book over what was in the film. I concede that the original ending may have been a bit weird and not as suited to the big-screen.
The casting was really good. I feel that most of the characters were well represented.
I don’t get all the hate. If you’re unfamiliar with the original story I can see being a bit confused, but there was still some good action and the story was pretty easy to grasp. If you are familiar with the book I feel that the film supplements the novel very well. They are a little different, but it was still nice to see the story brought to life on the screen. Unless you’re an absolute purist/fanboy I don’t understand why this is a disappointment.
[edit] Those who are coming in here with your opinion, I would like to know if you had read the book previous to viewing.
What a waste of three hours. That movie was GAY!!!
Definitely don’t understand why so much hate. The only problems I had with the movie was Dr. Manhattans shlong hanging all over the place throughout the movie, and the soundtrack.
Other than that, it was fairly well put together. Each individual character did a pretty good job filling their role. Awesome action scenes.
It certainly wasn’t the best movie I’ve ever seen. But it definitely doesn’t deserve the horrible ratings you guys are giving it.
What action scenes? There were like five of them.
