On the bottom of the waterpump housing is a small hole
and on the side (unsure of their purpose).
It appears that the one bottom one is leaking out at a fairly constant rate. 
To me this means the shaft seal is pooched and i have to get a new one.
Am i correct in thinking this?
I don’t think its a case of possibly sealing up the hole.
that’s the ‘weep’ hole… if it’s leaking, I’m pretty sure you need a new pump.
I have a water pump off a Ka24e, its yours for like $10 if you want it.
I’m going with a new pump, thanks for the offer though.
yep, when you start leaking coolant out of the weep hole, your pump is on it’s way out.
changed mine recently, very easy job on a KA. good luck.
i’ve done it too many times for my liking recently,
catastrophic water pump gasket blow out, somehow…
chged that
then the water pump decided to leak a while after,
so tried one my buddy had kicking around…
and same thing
now to open it up again, for the new one 
well…at least i’ll have a nice clean coolant system with all the changing…
