Wendy's Lot - 04/10/08

… and the proceeding removal by Colonie’s finest.

In the process of discussion of what’s going on my name got volunteered to be the spokes person for the lot going community (the one night I come out to the lot :ponder ), so I’m going to make some calls and get in touch with the plaza manager.

The issues that come up.

One, he’s not going to let us hang out there, unless there is a direct interest in it for him or the businesses in the plaza. Obviously most of the businesses are closed at our time of “meetings” so suggesting that we are potential customers is out.

The Lot Commandments Carry in, Carry out. - If you're old enough to drive, you're old enough to pick up your own trash after yourself. Believe it or not, it's one of the biggest grievances that the Kohls, McD's and Wendy's lots have with us. Our trash is costing them their resources and frankly they don't feel like dealing with it.

Leave the lot calmer than grandma - no reason to get on your car while leaving or try to show off, and even if you do, do it upto the limit. Colonie officers like to sit in either direction waiting for somebody to leave driving like an asshole. Save yourself a ticket and the rest of us trouble and behave. They’ve been doing it for a long time prior and they will keep doing it in the future.

No blasting music - we don’t care how loud you can play the Yin Yang twins. Period.

Potential locations that I'll look at for permission. McD's Wendy's Lot Hoffmans car wash- probably our best shot.

I’m going to try and come up with a “sales pitch” over the next few days that would justify us being there as some kind of benefit to the official parties involved. It won’t be easy (we are after all a nuisance :lol ) so any help is appreciated in finding out what business are open till when at the said plaza and possibly having petitions asking how many people are looking for a spot, and how many will boycott the businesses in the area.

If worst comes to worst and I get a petition big enough, I’ll present it to the town of Colonie and see what happens.

I’m not promising anything, but I’m giving it a shot. If we clean up after ourselves, possibly even offer to pay for the right to hang out there (monthly $$$ amount) and behave, we could actually be onto something.

why pay to stand in a lot when park and ride is free? :confused

No reason we can’t have two lots =)

Most people prefer some place on central to P&R

Sounds like an awesome idea you have Vlad, besides the paying part. Also we will HAVE to do something about the ricans, like have people not let them in where ever we go or something… they leave a majority of the mess and cause a majority of the noise.

:rofl at ying yang twins, but this is a good idea, its to bad it probably wont work

wait wait… who voted the foreigner as spokesman… i mean seriously… vlad… what does he know about catering to large groups and being able to organize something like this…

oh wait… :ponder

i MAY, be able to get some pull with the TOC. Not going to promise anything, but i MAY be able to use some, connections if you will. :sleep

why bother. this is an ongoing problem that wont be solved till sumone buys sum property. ur fighting a losing battle. the problem always follows and show up sooner or later to ruin it for every one.

this has been a discussion on several forums. there will be no resolve till some one buys or lease’s some property.

u can’t fight stupidity. it will always follow.

maybe we should leave colonie and move to a different town for just regular meetups thats near like nisky, or shenectady, or g-land anywhere but colonie, I think we’re pretty much fucked there. Well I guess theres no harm in trying for colonie I just think a different town thats close by would be a good idea.

:+1

Nisky and G-Land cops are probably the worst.

Gotta pay to play in one way or another. You either have to provide business to the establishments there or literally pay to be there, there is simply no way of getting around this besides you know… finding a spot just to get kicked out later.

e get kicked out because there is absolutely no reason or incentive for the owner/manager to keep us there, so when police confront them about the subject, 99% of the time they will say no. However if they had any kind of incentive (money talks in business world) they for once might say yes. (allowing us to be there).

Unless you fight a government lot (which is also technically paid, by our taxes), or a private lot (for which somebody also had to pay) money is going to be involved directly or indirectly.

that may be true but we havent pissed them off like we have the colonie cops so they dont have a hardon for us right off the bat, thats gotta mean somthing

why is money such a big deal? if you have a lightly modded car at all, 5$ for the month or something to chill any night you want is nothing. for me its less than the gas i spend just driving to and from the “lot” one night. If we get a good amount of people interested in having a dedicated spot, that understand the above rules, the price would be even cheaper. A business owner is going to want to get something out of it, if he’s getting 200bucks a month for his parking lot to be parked on, and his name thrown around everywhere “Hey were going to bob’s banana barn” tonight! why wouldnt he? if were all cheap fucks and want to keep getting kicked out of places, than thats how its going to be. But think about how beautiful it would be to find someone willing to APPROVE of us being there, then the cops could lick our balls as they drive by evil-eyeing us all night and do nothing about it.

Thats…uhhh a little to :gay .

Also as far g-land cops go, there nothing. theres the price chopper/ dunkin donuts in the 20mall with a HUGE parking lot, plus dunkin donuts 24/7. i think RT20 is the way to go, and leave the Rt5 (central ave) mess behind. EVERYONE knows about central, so why go somewhere, wheres theres gunna be problems 24/7. This is even going back to the apg/every other local fourm. central is a :nono for meets.

id throw in 5-10$ on it, but being able to control it is the problem. people being irresponsible and leaving a mess is hard to fix. we would need to instill a clean up patrol so to speak for those who cant do it themselves. tonight when everyone left, i went and picked up a bunch of bottles before i rolled out that some people left behind. is it a big deal? not at all, it took 5 minutes of my time, should i have to happen, absolutely not. i mean, do the people who litter the parking lot throw trash on the ground where they live? i certainly hope not, then why throw it where you hope to be welcome? is it just the general assumption that somone will do it for you? finding a hang out spot has been a losing battle since ive been around and its been almost 10 years now, and its like this everywhere ive been… you get a group of people who can conduct themselves in a mature, adult manner, then you get the group of outsiders that come in and ruin all that was good( the “puerto ricans” in this case) no finger pointing or name calling, but i dont see anything coming out of this because there is no way to control all the car people who end up showing up at these GTG’s.

its true, you can’t control everyone. but getting the “good” people all on the same note, might help. Like if your all a bunch of scattered car people and no one is really paying attention, or knows about the work that was put into finding a new “lot” to chill at, no one will care. I could say “hey man, pick your bottle up so we dont get thrown out” and the dude might tell me to suck him balls deep. And as tempting as that sounds, i’d probably decline. But the point is, if we can get a majority in agreement with the fact that we all need to help enforce the rules, if the whole lot, or a group of guys were like “hey man, really… dont litter here, so pick it up or leave” then we might have ourselves a winning battle for once. Same would apply for everything else, ie: burnouts, loud music, continuous reving and whatnot. We have no control over what happens outside of the “lot” we are at, as far as races and for all i care throw the bottles out the window on the way home, its your $500 littering ticket not mine. But in the lot if we all know what should be expected and we all help enforce is i doubt a big enough group of “litterers” could show up and push us all around.

the person that own that plaza is a relative of mine. i COULD get permission to stay there, however i dont want to be held responsible if something gets fucked up. and i dont want to constanly be getting the blame for stupid shit the idiots do. i say we just do P&R

this will NEVER work, do not waste your time. Just go find another place… like the P&R!!

if you think getting permission to hang at the wash is your best option then you really don’t have an option cause that will def not happen. That the only place of your options that can still do business when you guys hang there. And hanging there prevents business.

I have no idea why some of you guys feel the need to have a lot on central ave. Let it go!

any town police or political leader will politely laugh in your face when you present this to them

If we can’t make the concept work here, P&R is just next on the list of the fallen lots. If trash is our biggest issue and we can’t even handle that, cops will kick us out of P&R just as well.
