Went out for a Cyber Monday deal for my dad for Christmas...

And ended up buying him this…

Ok, so I’m a little excited to use it myself.

95 Miata
5 speed
black cloth
ugly 14" wheels
new tires
new top
61k miles
storage until spring

Bought it off my mother in law. I looked at it for her 5 or 6 years ago when she picked it up. She has put 3k miles on it haha. She got an awesome deal on this car then so it cost me less than what most miatas go for with way more miles.

I paid for it and my parents will pay the insurance and we both enjoy.

Shoulda bought a flat screen.

They have a tube TV. Still works good. Haha

Slow and boring…What are you swapping into it?

It’s more fun to drive a slow car fast than a fast car slow.

For what it’s worth, they are pretty fun stock motor with exhaust and coilovers. Sounds peppy and handles great. All for under 5k.

Turbo it for 3k and you have a cheap fun quick car.

He said the motor has low miles, prolly gonna swap the motor into a vette?

Has enough power for burnouts, not sure what it needs more for?

Is your father intending a life style change announcement this holiday season?

I kid I kid…Do you still have the cobra?

Clearly you have never experienced a Prius.

Still have the cobra. Not sure what I’m doing with that. Been putting money into the gti I just got and now that needs a clutch from getting a tune. More handling for that car and definitely coilovers for the miata and I’m thinking team dynamics pro race 1.2 wheels.

I have to say, I’ve never seen a car enthusiast group discuss spring rates and shock lengths the way miata people do. I’ve looked into it before I bought this and I need to figure out a plan.

Miata people are pretty anal

No

:frowning:

Truth.

ZING

There it is!

I’m partial to these cars.

I really figured this would go towards incest seeing as I will be sharing this with my dad.

Been reading like crazy about coilover setups. I think it’s cool how many guys mod parts and do some solid diy set ups, but I’m the kind of guy that doesn’t mind paying for a well engineered product. Support the guys that support our scene. That said I’ve been looking at Fat Cat Motorsports, ISC, and Flying Miata parts and if anyone has real input on what works well I’m open to suggestions. I’d like it to be a nice flush(not slammed/stanced) look but don’t want to lose all travel. Been thinking Koni sports with Ground Control coilovers but wondering what bump stops and upper mounts to use. If a set of tein coilovers is worth it I’m open to them as well.

This was what I was going to switch to if I would’ve kept my car. Seems like the best bang for the buck. If you aren’t already, join Clubroadster.net for more info on them.

If not I’m sure @cretinx, @stuiephoto and @neurokinetik can help steer you into the right direction.

Does it have a Torsen?
