Whelp, went out for milk in my 06 m5, got side tracked and decided it was time to move onto another car. it was a tough decision… i really loved it, with full exhaust with corsa mufflers, it was so much fun to go WOT and listen to the v10, but at 103k miles, and having to just recently pull the tranny 2x within 6 months to change some cheap parts that had failed, i felt it was time for a change.
I have a 1 year old son, and while the m5 did GREAT hauling him around, it was getting hard to take him, my wife, and a bunch of stuff out for mini vacations etc (strollers and diaper bags tag up a lot of trunk room, not leaving much space for any of my gear) So i needed to find something fun/fast that could haul a my son, wife, and my triathlon stuff so they can come to more races this year
So i said goodbye to the m5
and picked this up
2010 BMW x5M
Carbon Black
4.4L twin turbo V8 with 555Hp and 501 Tq.
0-60 in 4.0 with launch control, and 12.5 @ 109 in the 1/4 stock
With a tune, they will go sub 4 in 0-60 and sub 12’s
When i picked up the car, i couldn’t get over how loud the exhaust was for a stock car. So when i pulled over at teh first rest stop on my drive back, i noticed it has an eisenmann exhaust on it (4500 dollar muffler LOL) It was a VERY nice surprise
going to get it on a dyno soon to verify if it has a tune. I put it up on a lift and couldn’t find any other modifications to the car
Rover sport sc is nice for offload, but stinks for daily … C&d did a comparo of the hot rod SUVs, and it came in last… And they are about 15k more currently… They look awesome though, and
The LCD dash is cool
I drove the cayenne turbo, ml 63 and the rr sc… The bmw was the quickest and most fun to drive… It was close with the cayenne though, but the porsche doesn’t have the same tech inside of it…
Welcome to the club. I went 12.6@109 bone stock and hit a 12.2@112 with a 93 tune. I haven’t seen anyone bone stock with a tune only hit 11s yet. Only a renntech truck and they had to have messed with the launch control I have no idea how they get 1.6 60fts. My best is a 1.83. With the exhaust and tune you should be extremely close. I would recommend getting off the run-flats asap.
