Well if I wanted a “fast” car to drag race, I wouldn’t have picked up any Mazda 3. I would have put my money into something with a bigger engine.
I picked it up with the idea that its fun to drive and can be upgraded. It would be fun to track and the idea behind getting the 3 sport sedan is that I have the ability to add my own modifications and upgrade it to my liking. I do love the sound of the ms3 exhaust for example so that might be the summer project and maybe swapping out the springs with some lowering ones from a aftermarket vendor. I get to do with it what I chose and to me the upgrading the parts that I want instead of buying it all prebuilt from the factory makes it mine.
So you’ve been hemming and hawing about purchasing a new car for about 6 months now, but you bought a car on your lunch break because a salesman knocked 2500 bucks off a car that you still probably overpaid for?
+1 I was actually disappointed when I was looking into buying a 3. Seemed nice on paper and had good reviews, but driving one in person turned me off instantly.
My neighbor has one of these. He’s about 40 years old, married, and has two kids. He likes to talk to us when were outside and he’s pretty jealous that we’re still young and he’s suffering from onegina and having kids. He also tells me every time that I see him that the road noise from the tires are much too loud on this car and that he used to have a Fiero.
Someone take a picture, this could be the one time I agree with Newman.
You bought a car without even knowing what engine was inside, never visited the mazda3 forums, and don’t know that an MS3 only comes in a hatch? You have posted up numerous times about cars, but did you ever do any homework on them or just said “This is a nice car, let’s see what NYSpeed says…” Post
There are almost 15 different variations of the Mazda3 (trim packages, wheels, options) Did you get a good deal, or was that $2500 off the salesman pitch at the top-notch car, which you didn’t get? Essentially, did you just pay over Edmunds.com pricing on your package? I don’t see a spoiler, did you pay for the “sports package” which you probably don’t have?
I’m just assuming everything since you didn’t post up the options, trim package and how much you paid… but, with one sentence talking about engines and another of you not even knowing a speed3 only comes in a hatch, I’m going to assume that you got ripped.
It’s the sports package. Spoiler is am addon. It had what I wanted in a car and a daily driver and everything I read said they are good cars. It’s no integra with 100,000 miles and a turbo charger or a 60,000 dollar bmw to make my penis look bigger. It was what I wanted and I picked it up today and love it.
The site I did a lot of reading on also said the 3 speed comes in both a hatch and sedan but to be honest I don’t want to pay for a semi upgraded factory suspension and turbocharger to drive around the city of buffalo.
I didn’t post up too much because I did not know if I was going to get it or if someone would walk on and offer sticker.
Now that I got it it’s the red 3 sport. It has the in dash cd changer, cruise, 5 speed, power everything and sunroof which were important to me. It also has the 5 spoke alloy rims which are an upgrade i think and low profilr wheels. I personally would have it no other way since the only things I want I can add myself. I picked it up for 11.5k and has 35,000 miles exactly.
