Didn’t you not get it yet according to your financing thread? Or did you finally get that figured out, days after posting that you “bought” this one.
And stop saying you can mod it. Saying you like the sound of the MS3 exhaust and that you are going to swap it to this car is the most retarded thing I’ve ever heard.
Do-not-mod-this-car. Drive it, enjoy it, and when you want something “trackable” or “fast” then buy it… this it not it. This is an econo-gasmileage-box. I’m not trying to be a dick, just be realistic.
Learn a bit about what you bought. You certainly do not need to touch the suspension to take it out on a track. See sureshot!'s post for details. If you get much of your automotive insight from NYSpeed, keep in mind that 99% of this board thinks that a sports car is defined by its dyno chart.
No it’s not fast and if you’d be better off just upgrading to an MS3 if you have any intentions of heavy modding, but it’s not like it’s a Honda Fit.
I picked up the GMAC premier warranty up to 100,000 miles or 5 years. Covers everything pretty much except tires, brakes, clutch, and normal wear. Anyone have this or know anything on it? Since I am planning on evntually adding thigns to this I might cancel it but I am going to call them tomorrow and get more info on it.
I would hope so since its more expensive and the mazda performance division.
One of the big things I keep saying is that this car is not a track car or drag car. If I wanted one for that, I would have bought something that is made for the track. The fact of the matter is that this is my DD that I am going to add stuff to as I chose, not buy a factory tuned car that I pay double for just so I can drag down NFB at 2am against some high schooler in a civic. I will not be at the track every weekend trying to get the best times or making my car super tuned on a dyno. Its not my thing.
What am I going to do it it? Who knows. I might swap out the exhaust beucase I like the sound of the MS3 or other after market systems. Not becuase I want to have a 500 horse power DD.
I have realized over the last 3 months that asking for automotive advice on this forums except for a few people who constantly give advice is pointless. Everyone talks about the cars I asked about and yes, I posted a few questions but quickly found that some people only thing rare cars are the only ones worth buying or buying a car tuned from the factory. I don’t remember any post saying anything along the lines of “Ya its a weak engine but the reliability is there and it holds it value decent for a few years” or “I would stay away from that car becuase that year is known for this” again, other than a few people.
So yes, I bought it. I like it. I am going to drive it and probably mod parts of it. Its not a M3. Its not a supra. Its not a engine swapped 1988 civic that has been rebuilt 3 times. Its a fucking daily driver.
And they have the largest amount of production sports car available than most brands (than ALL brands if you forget about supercar companies). Speed3, Speed6, rx8, miata, and hopefully in 2010 another rx7. Not to mention the Furai. Even their minivan comes stock with eibach springs!

Don’t let them browbeat you into saying it’s not a good car/potentially quick.

it’s true… you need the whole exhaust including the rotary muffler at the front end.
but if you can get a used MS3 muffler for like $100 then why not… personally I’d be more interested in a rear sway bar to get rid of some of the understeer.
PEOPLE HAVE PUT A MS3 EXHAUST ON A NORMAL 3 YOU FUCKING MORON AND I KNOW THIS MIGHT BLOW YOUR MIND BUT I LIKE THE SOUND OF IT AS I HAVE HEARD IT BEFORE.
