what did i do now

so tonight i had someone comming to look at my car that i am selling 92 240, anyways, i was showing him the car, started it up, and as i was turing it off he asked if i could rev it up a lil bit, so i went o turn it back on, maby a bit too soon, and everything in the interior went dead. nothing happens when i turn the key, the only thing that seams to make my dash lights go on is when my alarm goes off. is it just a fuse or did i kill my car 5 mins before a sale?

dead battery? fuse?
check them, then come back.

checked the battery, the alarm works so i know it’s not that, i checked the fuses in the car, and i quickly checked under the hood, it’s a bit too cold out tho so i guess i will more thourly check them in the morning.

your battery works the alarm it doesn’t meant that its good maybe its not fuly juiced its possible that your alternator stopped charging and you ran off battery power and it was a fluke you shut it off at the time you did. did you try boosting it or charging your battery then see if everything works? if not do that very rarly something would just fry outta nowhere

check the connections on the battery, wiggle them abit if you can.

has the car been driven daily or has it been sitting a while and u start it up on occasion?

if its been sitting and u satrt it up then ide say ur battery is drained.

heres an esay way of looking at it. if u start it up once in a while and dont let it run for about 40 mins heres what your doing…

pretend your battery runs on 10 cups of water.

you start it up and it takes out 2 cups of water. after about 40 mins your alternator returns those 2 cups.

if you run it less then that, you may only be putting back 1 cup.

then you do it again and again until your battery has nothign left.

another thing is your alternator might have crapepd out on you.

im not a huge engine buff but i had the same problem and it ended up being that the battery was pretty much drained.
