actually, the main problem w/ suzuki was durablity of the frame in the front end. the handling was also better on the Honda, but Suzuki engines were actually more advanced, as they had a power-valve. but thats besides the point. was the suzuki as good as the honda?..no. which is why the honda was way more popular. honda ,if u notice, is famous for putting R after all their racing models, including dirtbikes. therefor, when u say 250R a honda comes to mind first, but the fact remains that 250R also describes the SUZuki. we still have one at my camp, an '88. on the rear fender it has huge stickers that say ‘250R’. u can ‘go-off’ on me all you’d like. u dont know what u r talking about.
smokey is technically correct, although if someone told me “i have a 250R”, I would assume that he was talking about a Honda. but whats the point of arguing about quads they stopped making 15 years ago?
so true. haha. but as far as the 250R thing its stupid to argur over, but there is a picture of it sitting there, so its obvious what i meant. but i definatly agree, that when someone says 250r, that the honda comes to mind first, being as how popular it was and that Honda is most known for putting ‘R’ in their model names.
yeah I worked at fairly large bike shop for the better part of a year. People would come in and ask for parts for a 250R and I’d look the damn part up in the Honda manual right in front of them, and after 15 minutes of searching and cross referencing discontinued parts and everything and finally find their part, they say “oh, I meant a Suzuki 250R”.

i didnt read the whole thread, cuz seems like ONCE AGAIN, this offroad thread is getting heated… but my uncle has an old Honda 250R … i dunno… 86 or 87 i think… has had A LOT of rediculous offers for it… but loves it too much to sell it… its runs good, but as compared to a 250 dirtbike, i can’t help but say i’m not super impressed… plus i hate how ALL 4-wheelers steer… i feel like a retard riding one… THROW TWO OF UR WHEELS AWAY!!! 4 WHEELS SUCK!

the 250R got a watered down version of the CR’s motor. I want to take one and swap an up to date CR motor in it. that would be badass. Quads are fun, but not the same way that a bike is fun. Bikes > quads

ya. that would be badass. i’ve eard of ppl doing that. the one problem is the the CR engine doesnt have a counter balancer, so it’ll vibrate like crazy in the quad frame. but i’d say its worth it, haha.
just for the record, last summer me and bics wanted to see if my other 250R(suzuki) was as fast as my RM in a straight line. we lined up in a huge field at my camp and ran them. the RM dominated, haha. i was actually surprised. i thought the 250r would keep up. it just got a whole new engine rebuild too.
