seriously 500 sq feet thats terrible ive built bigger doghouses, definitely not worth it to me im probably gonna stick in pa plus all them mexicans take all the construction jobs for cheap wages
I know I explained this before… but here we go again.
My Z06 payment is just over $300/mo. That is in NO WAY the factor keeping me from buying a house right now. My house payment would be around 10 times that. So if I sell the Z06, buy a “practical” car I have an extra $300ish/mo. for a house payment… but still little or no down-payment. Realize that $600k dump would require a 60k down… MINIMUM. So I sell my Z06, I have like $20k or so “equity” in it. Spend $10k on a “practical” car and have $10k down. Yay, I can’t even buy the mailbox in front of that dive.
There are cheaper places than Santa Cruz that are still in this general area. I actually live in Gilroy right now because it’s not too bad of a drive to Google here in Mountain View and housing is much much cheaper. In a few years I probably will be able to buy something here.
But for now, if the Z06 was the difference between me owning a house or not, it’d be gone.
I have a lot of buddies that work construction. My house-mate is a contractor and makes good $ (he has a G35, '06 Silverado work truck, nice ass '67 Camaro, R1 etc). Another buddy runs a concrete pumping business… does pretty good too. I have other friends that work construction but down own their own business and they all do alright. The unskilled laborers just take the shity low-paying jobs. There still reaches a point where you have to have some skills to do the “better” jobs.

Trash service is included in your taxes?
Our Trash is not included in the taxes… it runs about $45 every 3 months.
We also pay for water… we have septic for sewage.
Then your other utilities… electric , gas , cable…

There are bunches of new housing plans going up… The one we live in is called Woodlands Estates, and we are at the very end of a section called Woodlands West… The houses are massive and there are about 10 total… our house is like the Beverly Hillbilly house of the bunch… It is the original farmhouse for that area.
My dad lives in Derry… which is next door to Latrobe… He has 3 acres and 2 large buildings (house and Barn)… his taxes were nearly $3000 a year… So I think our low taxes are because we are Untiy Township… were the large business’ are. Walmart, Kennametal, Hospital, …

yes garbage service is included in your taxes in most towns in allegheny county. We pay for water as well and its cheap. Seawage is either included with the water bill, or it come sout of taxes. I don’t recall a specific sewage bill, so I;m leaning towards the taxes.
Thats why I ask because we had this dicussion when we went to buy a house. Yes its a minimal amount, but still that money is going to come out somewhere.
Yes, we get a sewage bill. It gets paid to the Central Tax bureau of PA… and is usually about half of what the water bill is.
