What happened to my SR?

Oh fuck I guess I missed it, so I better go try this again…

first of all, its not your plugs.

second.

instead of waisting our lives by posting stuff here why dont you actually go out and do somthing on your car and fix the problem. when you make a post that says “my motor is clicking” what are we supposed to do, oh a click!!! yes when your motor makes a click then it means your pistons are hitting the valves! what is a picture of your cas going to do? use google, if you think your maf is bad, change it.

Ok shit man I’ve done what I can i’m not a mechanic. Secondly you don’t have to be a prick, just trying to get advice I have no idea what i’m doing here. And i’m sorry if you feel like your wasting you life posting so don’t! There are some people on this board who don’t mind helping people who know less than they do. So just chill man, and to anyone else who has given me suggestions that were actually constructive, thank you, I hope you understand i’m not that knowledgable about these things and what you say helps me learn.

Can someone explain to me why you need to remove the valve cover and play with the CAS to set ignition timing? in the FSM it doesnt mention anything about having to do that. Simply hook up a light and then rotate the CAS to the desired setting.

^^^ you lift the valve cover to double chcek that the cam lobes on #1 are facing away from each other… that way its @ TDC for sure

the notch on the pulley when @ TDC can actually have the 1 cam off or something stupid… depending on what stroke its on ?

That’s only necssary if you remove the CAS and need to put it back in.

Otherwise, if your car came with the CAS already in, don’t fudge with it.

To set your timing you dont need to remove cover or anything. Just do
what I said and problem solved.

Sometimes I have to agree with DTS :o

Good luck mate,

i dont have a pet turtle.

and the reason you pull your valve cover is not to check TDC it is so you can line up the ticks on the cam angle sensor properly.

Take your car to a mechanic bro. If you don’t know what you are doing I would bite the bullet and pay someone to fix the problem or at least diagnose it properly. You’ve done as much as anyone can expect.

know of any mechanics familiar with the SR motor, with VVT? I don’t…

Nissan did my SR timing and well it was off by just a little…I gave them an Eupoean FSM

I don’t but I’m sure someone in the GTA knows. Call prominent tuner shops.
