so my friend has a Lincoln Mark VII LSC with a 5.0 in it. we started by bolting on a new Ford Racing Cobra intake manifold and seals (because the old seals were bad and it had a bit of an oil leaking problem). well, that tunred into him buying new cylender heads and before long the idea came up of “hey lets just pull the whole motor out and rebuild it”
so we did. 2 long nights later, and a huge greasy and oily mess later, the engin and transmission are now out:
hopefully this greasy, oily mess (words really cannot describe it) will be cleaned up as well as the engine bay and putting it back in ocne everything is rebuilt and the new transmission is on, will go a lot smoother. i will keep updating the thread as we make progress,
it was prob only 1 day…we worked from like 7 to 12 last night and from 6 to 11 tonight. and that liquid is trans fluid that drained itself when the drive shaft came out. we had a bucket there, but it had a leak in it (no lie) and after a while we jsut gave up on trying to mop it up with paper towels ans newpapers.
as far as mods go, he laready has a set of Ford GT-40P heads, Ford Racing Cobra intake manifold, underdrive pully, flowmaster exhaust, and he has a new transmission all lined up that will be rebuilt with a shift kit. he will be ordering a new cam, lifters, rockers, timing gear set, MAF and headers very soon. other than that i dont think he has any other plans for the car just yet. the whole project has deffinately been a learning experience for me, and i really didnt even do much lol.
