what motors for you?

What do you think is the best motor for your 240?

i personally prefer the CA over the SR, i don’t have any experience with the RB series

i think if i ever do a swap it will be a RB or a CA

But u cant knock the old KA’s for being Damn well built… My SOHC just keeps going harder and harder.

2jz.

I’m a big fan of tha ka series engines, mine’s got 250k km’s on it, no leaks or any problems. I’m planning an rb26 swap next year . . .

ka-t all da way!!! if u have the faith(cash) to believe in it haha… ka-t has proven itself enough times on ka-t.org… 8.9? 9sec ka-ts on that site

LOL…

20B. everything is better with rotary power.

As long as you take the time to build the motor properly, a KA-T produces some good, reliable, TQ numbers. But to me it’s like building a 7M motor up when you have a 1JZ motor direct drop in, why spend the money to build a motor up so that it will produce less gains per $, then using a direct drop/minor fitment replacement.

I’ve worked on both, I dont’ have a problem with either. Just a comment on older tech vs newer tech/materials.

stock KA
end of story

ca18det, modded to a ca20det…

Baby RB ftw

I like the idea of a KA-T but with constantly grenading T28’s that blow the engine… I think that’s the base… don’t you andrew?? :stuck_out_tongue:

HA!

LOL
Reliability won me over. Don’t worry, one day I will unleash the T again.

Seriously speaking, for the s13, the easiest way of making good amounts of power is the SR. With minor upgrades, one being the turbo, you can have great fun.

However, never neglect suspension like most do…

Andrew.

in reality i think the best engine would have to be either a 13b or 20b… stick this in a s13 (like i’m working on doing) and the SR, CA, and RB can bite me, lol… with a 13b you would have sooo much room to play around with… and i’m sure there would be enough room with a 20b. but i’m sick and twisted and think the wankel is the greatest thing since sliced bread, lol

KA24DE and im not budging:K

ka-t ftw. There is a guy on ka-t.org with 540whp stock internals, cometic head gasket. Its all tuning, an sr is pre tuned from the factory which is why its so easy to get power out of. U need to tune ur KA which can make it more difficult. An sr is like an asshole, everyone has one! hehe i see that everywhere

but any motor is a good motor. Heck a ca is only 1.8 litres and its bulletproof. The rb25 would be the most ideal motor, or rb26…but its a tight fight

Yes he is making 540whp, how long will it last is the question. Under any hard tracking it will blow. It is not all tuning, there is more to building a proper setup then tuning. Tuning is important, but there are many variables ontop of that.

I never did agree with the use of these metal head gaskets, or the like. Adam Hutchinson agree’s with me on this, ARP studs and stock headgasket is fine. You’d much rather blow a head gasket then something else. He ran 20psi with ARP studs and stock headgasket for many solosprint seasons.

Tuning is not hard, with proper engine management, wideband O2, and egt anyone with half a brain and a little know how can learn to do it. Ignition is the hardest part to tune, but running a moderate ignition map is fine, or having ignition map tuned by someone experienced. Ignition map is where most gains will be made on any motor.

2.1L SR

:R

wheeeee

nothing sounds like a 2.0L I6 at 8000+ rpm and 20psi.

i bet a 2.0L 20b on 20psi sounds better, lol jokes

I agree
