What replacement tires for an STI??

customer of mine with an STI is ready for new rubber at 12k miles. He wants something a lil cheaper than the Potenza on it now, but similar performance (if not better).

Just want some ideas from ya’ll about who has run what and how good it is. Most likely looking at a Y=rated tire also…

I don’t know abot cheaper but the Bridgestione SO3s are a good tire. You could also go with the PZeros. Also take a look at what BFG has to offer.

i been running the potenza re730’s on my car for the last few years, there a really good tire, nice treadwear ,super stiff sidewall and excellent in the rain, but i doubt they will be cheaper than what he has now.

i’d suggest the Pirelli Pzeros

kumhos

BF goody G-Force KDW
Yoko AVS ES100’s
Sumitiomo’s HTRZ

kumho ecsta mx, stickies tire for the money that can be driven in the rain. The only tire I will be running.

He mentioned the BFG G-force KD. I did though mention that kumno MX, that looks like a decent tire and i remember some people running them at north park autox…

i worked at firestone/bridgestone. and the best tire for the money i thought was the potenza RE910’s the look kinda cool also

everyone i know that runs out at beaver runs the kumho mx, for the money its unbeatable.

what about falken aziena’s? or however u spell that…

also awesome tires, but you might as well be on slicks in the wet. and they wear faster then the kumhos. the dry traction of the falkens is a bit better though.

KD’s are nice but mad pricy and not that good in the rain
KDW is better IMO if your trying to stay a little pracitcal.
