What tires to get....

I REALLY like these tires but kind of worried of the 200 treadwear. The car isn’t daily driven(but maybe close to in the summer months). Falken Azenis RT-615, is there any of the tires that may be a cheaper price and comparable? I have checked the following sites…tires.com, tirerack.com, and edgeracing.com. I think these are what I am going to get, but if you have any experience or other recommendations LET ME KNOW. $600 for a set of tires is a bit of cash. The tire size in 225/40/18 Heard they are basically a street legal slick…super saweet traction, and not so saweet wear. Soudns about right i guess. I kind of like the kuhmo ecsta SPT…oh yea and FU*K NITTO. Let me know what you guys think about the ecsta SPT.

check out the tread on these fattys(Falken Azenis RT-615)$141 ea.:

and the Kuhmo ecsta SPT at a much more sparing price-$95 ea.:

Sweet titty-fucking christ… which car has 18s on it?

this one…the 6th gen accord had HUGE wheel wells to fill.
It will be lowered as well by the end of the month…2.25"

booo…

I ran the 615’s all last year on the integra for autox duty. Got about a year outta them, but they also happened to cover 30-40 races (god knows how many runs on course that is) over the course of the year plus daily driving (between 10-15k i’d say?). Interesting fact about the 615’s, when they wear down to almost baldness the rubber actually gets a little softer. Of course by then my tires had been heat cycled so much it really didn’t matter the grip level just kinda stayed the same (rather than getting a little hard like the older azenis would). I wouldn’t use them for drag, sidewalls are pretty stiff. Even if you dump half the air outta them the difference isn’t too great. The tire itself is a great tire, Azenis have taken wins at SCCA nationals for several years now in the street tire class. If your not gonna drive the car alot you’ll probaly be fine you’ll get well beyond anything I could pull outta those tires life wise.

Why don’t you get the 615s… but put 'em on the M3? M3 > Accord, turbo or not.

i buy tires as needed…the M3 still has newer michelins on it. ITs staying bone stock this ummer unless 1.) Tires wear out 2.) brakes wear out

Any experience w/ the Kuhmos anyone?

I have read some tests but they seem to be pretty biased towards specific brands.

buy those, place 225/50/15 bfgs on there, and leave the stockers on back
and sell or donate your 18’s to some gangster

I’ve used the Kuhmo MX street tires, and their Victoracer and V710 race tires. The MXs are really nice for a true street tire. The Victos are a great bridge between a full race tire and a street tire. They could easily be driven on the street, though they would probably only give you ~10k miles and the more heat cycles the more they’ll harden out when older. They’re “okay” in the wet too. The V710s are simply amazing, but shouldn’t be used as a street tire.

I understand the idea of lighter wheels= more performance and all but those would look horrible on jacks Accord. :hs: I guess though for $80 you cant beat it. What kind of wheels are they?? Quantam Tek??

if you mean 600 for all 4 thats cheap as shit for 18s…i like good tires, just at the end of last summer i put two potenza s03’s on the back of my car…500 for two tires…18’s as well…i bought them at costco, they seem to be the cheapeast place to actually buy and have them put on.

you got raped on 500 for 2

just get tires that are cheap. you aint racing, youre just cruising so any tire thats ok should be in your budget.

you dont need top dollar parts for a low dollar setup. this goes on for anyone or any setup. if youre not going all out then you dont need one specific item like an all race super stickie tire just to go up and down the road.

true

baaa to cheapies…i just ordered the flaken azenis gotta check them out…

two great pics…I fell in love w/ them when i seen them

not when the tire size is 255/35 18

do i need the better tires? probably not, but why would i spend so much money on a car, then cheap out when it comes to tires? There is occasion when i drive a little fast and i like to know i have good tires on my car.

that is an oddball size, which means big bucks LOL …i ordered 235/40 18 . These things only have a 200 treadwear…most people are getting about 12-16K out of them. That will be two years…I’m happy with that. I may not even have these rims two more years. Looking at some Volks on another forum.

Go look up 305/30-19. That’s the back tire size on my Z06, I run Pirelli PZero Rosso Asimmetricos. Try $438 + shipping, tax, mount/balance EACH.

if you got a z06 you can handle it

when your spinning threw 3rd gear with 250whp dont come cryen to me tellen me that u need more traction :blue:
