What to use to clean terminals??

i need to clean off a couple terminals before i put a fuse strip in. what do you guys use to clean off terminals? ive heard you could use baking soda and a toothbrush

baking soda/water paste and a brush are great for battery terminals.

I have a battery terminal cleaning tool that takes off a thin layer of the terminal. Works great. I got mine at Walmart for cheap

Deoxit It’s made buy http://www.caig.com Great stuff. Cleans and improves the connection. Not sure if it will hold up in the engine bay (trying it right now). It’s a little expensive but you really don’t need much to make it work.

what do you use to protect them, then?

i used that dielectric stuff from auto parts…turned out not that great…
after a couple of month and some snow driving, green stuffs start coming out…

I always used those green felt washer looking things, they worked fine to protect the terminals after cleaning.

now, did u use dielectric material with em?

i’m gonna clean my battery soon…hehe
