I’d like to see more of places like O, Toro, and Mode. Darker, classier, and an overall more upscale feel, is usually the type of place I like to go…which is odd, bec. deep down that isn’t “exactly” me. I just prefer the environment.
I also like to frequent places like Colter Bay, Coles, and just about anywhere on Allen.
Chippewa is something I have no interest in. When we (old BTC crew) were all in college, we’d frequent Big Shots, simply bec. Ryan’s cousin ran the bar a few weekdays, and it was on Wednesdays when we all went, so it was NEVER crowded. We all knew each other, and it was a good time. God, how the times changed…
Your best place for a upscale lounge in the city of buffalo is on delaware right around the stillwater, prespa, and snooty fox. Probably will be extremelly difficult to find real estate available for something like this or it would already of been done.
I still believe no one can survive unless you get the right combination of everything to keep the majority of people happy. Reasonble drink prices, no fucking covers, music, bla bla bla. Good luck.
Good luck i dont understand. This thread is about what you want. What i am doing dosent matter. If i start a club/lounge of my own it would not be my primary income and i would just open the place that i want just because i feel like it. Im sure it wouldnt flop but i wouldnt open a place around others wants just to hope it does better.
The more Hertel grows the more I feel like a club there would work. There are tons of bars, several bar/lounges, but nobody has tried a lounge/club slant.
I know. We need a bar that attracts hot women, but not the type of guys that have something to prove or pluck their eyebrows*. Oh, a unicorn would be good too.
*It’s cool for a dude to fix a unibrow, but you get what I’m sayin.
Honestly, Hardware has hit the nail on the head and they are one of the only restaurant/bars in the area to be doing as well as they are these days. Go there ANY night of the week, and they are busy.
Dance clubs don’t seem to last around here. Everyone is looking for that PERFECT experience, and it just won’t happen here - that is what Toronto is for. Buffalo EDM clubs will never be Toronto EDM clubs, period.
I would love to see a SMALL, well designed, but casual (not pretentious) bar with good live music - similar to hardware, but perhaps with a Raw bar, a better layout, and a focus on the cocktails. There is not a bar in buffalo that makes proper cocktails - at least that I have been able to find. There are a lot that claim to - but none deliver. Throw a live piano in there for a couple nights a week, have a night dedicated to good EDM, and a couple nights playing the old stuff - Billie Holiday, Frank Sinatra, etc etc. Might be too much for one place, but might be cool to open two side-by-side micro-bar’s that each took on a different concept. This would work well on the Hertel Strip.
