What was your first car?

And what happened to it?

Mine was an '89 Mustang LX 4 cylinder. Pig slow, ugly, handled like crap, but it was decent on gas. Sold mine to my brother after I bought a 1953 Ford Mainline. Pig slow, beautiful, handled like crap, and horrible on gas.

1990 Nissan Sentra coupe…In the fall I got rear ended and had to say bye to the little guy.

I had the car for 2 years and now own a Nissan D21 Hardbody. Now I’m lovin the RWD!!!

1981 Pontiac Parisienne (SP?)

Sold to to a guy who showed up on my doorstep for $130.
3 weeks later I saw it race on a dirt oval. And it kicked ass!

1987 Ford Tempo L. Bought a new car a couple of years later and rolled the Tempo for fun. Sold it to Pick yer Part for $50 with one side of completely dented in (I rolled up a snowbank sideways).

Did you buy the 240 after?

1990 Nissan King Cab Truck. good on gas, looked ok and went pretty good too.

1986 Chevy Caprice.

My favorite car owned to date, except perhaps the Spec.

It was boring white, got reasonable mileage and couldn’t take a corner to save it’s life. But, it was RWD - fun for winter, had a trunk you could fit at least 4 bodies in, was comfortable on the highway, but most importantly - NEVER broke down.

The thing was practically indestructible. Unfortunately, I got it crossed up trying to pass someone on a winter road 70k on the BC side of Jasper. Slid 180 to the right, 180 to the left and ended up in the ditch, with the front end in about 3 feet of snow. While I was standing at the side of the road wondering how the hell I was going to get my car out, a nice guy stopped to ask if I’d called a tow truck.

Well, he stopped in the middle of the road. A completely stupid girl didn’t see what was happening and then locked her brakes, and slid 100 feet with not a wheel turning into the back of the nice guy’s Jetta. Meanwhile, a Dodge Caravan who was tailgating her lost control, spun sideways, and slid into the side of my Caprice in the ditch.

So, Jetta and the girl’s Dodge Shadow written off, minivan practially folded in half where it hit the rear bumper of my Caprice. The cops showed up, they pulled my car out of the ditch BY THE REAR AXLE. I knocked the show out of the engine compartment, and it started on the first crank. I made it the remaining 800K to Vancouver that very night. Regrettably the frame had been slightly bent, so ICBC wouldn’t repair it, and ultimately it was written off. How sad for me. :frowning:

1984 pontiac lazer… blown head tried to fix but didnt have time so my dad gave it to pick ur part…

1978 mustang …v8 kinda fast still sitting at my rents house and for sale!!!

and now the 240

I currently only have the 240sx and pontiac parisienne, the pontiac is my winter car. My common law wife has a 1995 Acura Integra. Oh yeah the only one that was totalled off was the chevette, the accord and monte carlo broke down and went to the junk yard, the rest i sold. oh and I’m only 22 and have a perfect driving record too. :E

First car was a silver '89 240sx hatch. After about 3 years of my love, it got writtin off. Thats when I bought this red one bone stock. lol. I should show up at the old mans house that I bought off of and see if he recognizes it. lol.

my first car was a 200sx coupe…it was 4 different colors (bondo, black, blue, and primer) automatic, power sunroof 8), it was from montreal so the voice notification for the doors being open fuel low etc was in french lol…and it actually did smokies HAHAHA…oh yeah and it only ran every other day, until i finnaly finished it off with a couple redline neutral drops hahahaha ahhh yeah good times :supz:

all i can say is that i’m lovin RWD
never drove one before this

dodge Shadow (non turbo) i rat bagged that bad boy and boy was it a fun first car

1978 Dodge Aspen V8, pig on gas, turned like it was on rails . . . that went straight! Something must have been wrong with the automatic cuz it would stall if I braked hard. Once it stalled as I was braking into a left turn. I had to slap it into neutral, wrestle it around without the power steering, while coasting through the intersection and cranking the starter like my life depended on it!
People were honking and gesturing at me :grrr Cheap American POS, but it was freedom to go places. Eventually, the block cracked at one of the cylinders and Dad donated it to M.E. LaZerte’s automotives program.

Since then I’ve had:
1987 Olds Cutlass Ciera - the “instrument panel” was just a speedo that went all the way across, yet ended at 160 kmh :eyepoke
1991 Suzuki Sidekick 4WD - 1st car that wasn’t hand-me-down from Dad, my 1st stick shift, 1st car I was proud to own :stickman:
1991 Eagle 2000GTX (Mitsu Galant AWD) - great car to drive, POS to maintain. Burned oil like a 2-stroke :guns
1994 Nissan Altima SE - 1st car I modified :love

1995 Dodge Colt

  1. 1984 Mazda 626lx
