m50 series motors are known to withstand up to 700whp on stock internals, as long as compression is reduced a bit with an MLS.
sure thats not a stock longblock, but just a head gasket and a reasonably safe 600+whp is pretty crazy, though most only go to 500whp or so before building because they already have so much into it, there’s a guy on bimmerforums that hit 704whp on a hg/studded M52 (2.8l), and another guy will be testing a similar setup on an s50 (3.0l) here soon, cant wait to see what the stock block is good for on an s50 :devillook
