Whats your motivation thread

I am curious to see/hear stories on what motivates you guys to build your car(s) the way you do.

So heres how it works. Write something about why you were first motivated to get the car u have and what made u build it the way u did in a few sentances to a whole page if u please to. Then attach a picture of the motivational car(s) and then a picture if ur car(s) if u want.

This is a no photo qoute thread and no flamming people for the way they build we all have different taste and styles.

Cheers.

Ill start.

I first realized i wanted a s13 when the guy down the road had one and he was always woeking on it and ket me help out( i was 13) at that point i wanted nothing more but to get one. My motivation has changed some over the yrs of owning s13’s but currently my motivation is the C’s Garage rb s13 coupe.

i cant even remember why i got into these things.

i do remember sitting in a chatpers with the old autotrader magazines 11 years ago cutting out adds in mags i didnt even buy so that i could call the people later. first one i bought was a total lemon… foam filled frame etc. etc. paid $3,600 for a 1990 black coupe… had a hot safety on it and the MTO wouldnt do anything, they were scared to go confront the shop that did it because they had threatened other MTO officers in the past.

Just like having a cool car. Like to see the progression, and sometimes i can make money aswell, and enjoy what I built. Uncommon with hobbies of this sort.

Wanting to get into drift/grip, driving a car that I will love to drive.(regardless of how slow the build/progression will be, everyone moves at their own pace especially since this is also a learning experience for me!)
Just wanting to have fun!

Maintain and drive my car while I’m in school is all that I need. To keep without modifying just think of the time when you get to the big boy toys.

S Chasis are kewlll.
Have a good group of friends and it gives us something to do.

Track cars, fast cars, very very fast cars, cornering fast, ‘grip’, time attack. That’s my motivation and has been from day one.

People saw it weird that I’d want to spend money on an older car with trick parts or have crazy ideas of going fast with it when the general consensus was doing totally different things (hard parking, slammed, hellaflush, drifting on street corners blabla, generally everything just drifting oriented). I didn’t care and I still don’t give a beep.

My car is in storage as I have other priorities but I still intend to do what I intend to do. Once I set my mind to something I execute it no matter how much time it takes. It’ll get done  Car looks like ass but drives like a dream even though its low power. It does have character though and the rpf1s with f1 mirrors give it a sleek look, its not slammed but low enough. Can’t wait to do body work/chassis work, cage, finish up what I want to do with the suspension and go wide with the bn blister kit i have, build a front splitter, install the wing i have chassis mounted and lighten the car more, put in a v8. Fuck yeah, dreaming but it’ll get done  It just sucks having a pile of parts sitting and a car in storage and no time and remaining money to get it all done…

when dudes in aus post your car in their favourite car thread and are convinced its photoshopped. http://nissansilvia.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=105510&st=1530&fcat=
that keeps me going.

I bought my 240sx back in 1999 way before all the SR and Drift hype… Slowly I started building it up. … Nothing in particular motivated me to do it. I didn’t see some other 240sx and I loved and thought I should do the same to mine… What motivated me was my self… I have always been the type that no one see’s coming… always in stealth mode, undetected, creeping in the shadows and using the element of surprise to my advantage and leaving people in shock and aww by exceeding their expectations … I wanted my 240sx to be the same. No Show all go! My 240sx looks almost stock, other then the kouki skirts and tail lights the only other visible modifications are the rims, the suspension and the exhaust but other then that as far as the eye can see it looks like a stock 240sx… Your ears will tell you different lol!

My motivation was to make a sleeper that no one see’s it coming… I like the look of disbelief on people’s faces on the highway as they see this little Nissan 240sx pull away from their Corvette or their Mustang Cobra or whatever they maybe driving that would be expected to kill a 240sx. I love it when a guy pulls up next to me in a Porsche and asks me “Dude WTF do you have done to that thing?” Sure my Nissan doesn’t have the finesse of a Porsche but at the same time I feel good about that because my little Nissan just blew the doors off a car that some guy payed more in taxes on then what my car is worth.

when I was a little kid in the 80’s I used to wash my father’s car on the weekend and take note of all the people who drove by and starred from their regular cars, right around then, 7 years old, I knew sports cars were the shit,

http://carphotos.cardomain.com/ride_images/3/3513/3089/33781544002_large.jpg

but ultimately, it runs in the family, be it my father’s brother, uncles etc, fast vehicles run in the family…

I figured this could use a bump

im asian… drifting is in my blood… …l… beat that
