So, i got my wheels straightened and the new tire mounted on the front wheel, my old toyo t1-r balanced with a .5 ounc the new hanook tire took almost 2 ounces on the one side to balance… consquently i am having pretty bad vibration and i hate it… is there any limit to how much weight you should put on one side of the tire before you should just rotate the tire on the rim to fix the balance issue?
new tires should have the little mark showing the heavy side of the tire. Throw the rim on the balancer alone and find out where the heavy side is there and mount the tire 180° to match up the heavy/light.
Then balance and see where you stand. anything more than 100g in one spot is getting kind of ridiculous.
i didnt balance it myself, fox tire did it, i looked it up and they have a GSP 9700 hunter RF which is supposed to be the best u can get, looks like ill take it back perhaps i just found a lazy guy

thats where i had my toyos done, but oen of them had a rip in teh sidewall… so i had to go to fox on a sunday to get a new one…
if fox cant get it right swever will get it, but fox should do it pro bono
Fox may have the Hunter road force balancer but they they probably did not use it if they were balanced like that.
they should
there should be a little red or yellow dot… just make sure thats lined up with the valve stem…
If the wheel was fix you should be able to balance that alone almost perfect… your best bet was someone isnt very good at balancing, or they used the wrong setting.
Yeah I’d double check to make sure they road forced your tires especially since they just got back from being straightened. Like Lafengas said you can move the tire on the rim to help with the balancing. If they were off by that much and whoever did it didn’t flip the tire at all they were lazy. Double-check.
why not take it to TOWNE BMW? they have top of the line equipment there too.

Yea we have the Corghi tire machine and Hunter balancer. Sounds like they didnt use the road force part of the machine to mount it up because the tire most likely needs to be spun on the wheel.
EDIT: Lafengas were you in on saturday? Thought I saw your car outside? I was the guy putting on an exhuast hanger on a mini. Saturdays suck, its all Mini customers, I hate those cars.
