Do you have any idea how much I cracked down on that? LOL ask Deebo how I was all over it. He’s the only one that comes to might right away I’m not even going to go into how pissy people start getting when they’re told NO.

What’s the point of someone bumping a thread that is still fairly new, already on page one, where 6 posts after the original posts are “GLWS, wish I had the money but car looks awesome” posts, especially when they have 0 legitimate interest in the item.

Being able to comment on classifieds threads is what distinguishes this site’s classifieds from Craigslist, etc. Our system isn’t perfect, and yeah it can be abused but that’s why we have mods, an infraction system and a report post button.

On watchuseek.com they have a system where only the OP can reply to posts. Seems to work out well. If you want something, PM.

This isn’t a discussion on that, though. You are free to do as you wish with classifieds, I think the system we have works fine.

IMHO NYSpeed is more alive today that it has been in a long time. We’re just doing more in person and less on the internet. I know I text and talk to several members, now good friends , almost every day. I stop out at shops, they come into my bar, meets are becoming more frequent by “OG” members and some quality “new” ones (quotations because those are all lose relative terms) . We have less to talk about and ask for help because we know who to talk to or, more likely now a days, we pay someone to do it for us because we really don’t have the time. We’re busy building houses, making and taking care of babies, following local politics and trying to help in making changes around you, spending time with family. Priorities have all shifted but we all remember our roots and will always continue to come back here.
