Where can I go Tramp...er Trap, Trap Shooting?

My father is getting up there in years; he turned 76 this past January. But he still has a fascination with target shooting. He recently bought a new gun and told me what it is but like all kids with CRS Syndrome I can’t remember what it was.

He has been looking forward to shooting it but doesn’t want to go to a range. He does not like the guys that “Rat-a-tat-tat-tat” the whole time; his words exactly. He has been wanting to go out trap shooting but is having trouble finding a location that:

A) Isn’t too far to drive (Why he will drive to Akron but not the North boggles my mind)

B) Doesn’t cost too much (I don’t know what is too much but he grew up in a time where you could ride your bike; re-read bicycle, with your 12 gauge strapped to it, illegally tresspass a rock quarry, and fire away until your hearts content.

C) Is outside (This is obvious for Trap)

Essentially, I think he wants to take a box of birds to a plot of land and go at it for a few hours.

Does anyone have access to a secluded area I could take my Dad Trap shooting?

I would be willing to go to a club if that is an option as well.

Any help is appreciated. Looking to do this a few weekends this Spring/Summer.

Not sure if it will help much but I always went to Grand Island Rod & Gun to shoot trap. That’s pretty much the only place I know of at the moment.

Thanks for the tip. I’ll check it out.

Anyone else have suggestions?

I go to Sheridan-Transit Rod and Gun on GI as well. Nice spot and everyone there is extremely laid back and friendly.

Sounds like a viable option.

Anyone know of anything in the Southtowns? Parents live in West Falls/Colden.
