Where to buy firewood

if you’re planning on using it as your primary source for heat i doubt 1 full cord will last you… I’ve had 4 fires or so and i’ve used about 1/4 cord

you need like 15 cords

really? fawk…

the wood you got delivered from that guy… how was the quality? was it really hard/dry wood? or soft?

I burned through 2 chords using it for “weekend” heat quite frequently 2-3 winters ago; I’ve got 1-2 chords currently of ok wood, and am getting another 2 chords this weekend of “good” wood.

I know the owners of Forest Products. Great people

Dunno about their pricing… just tossing that out there.

I wonder if I could get them to give discounts or something… but I am not sure how flexible they could be/tight their business is. Maybe I will give them a call and find out

please do, as I want to get 2-3 chords from them this Saturday!!!

Baldy, give them a call

I will also purchase ~ 4 face chords this weekend, maybe a group buy price?

I would need it delivered to 14086

It is a husband/wife working out of their house on the property (Rich and Cindy). Both of you should give them a call today… and say I posted up on a local forum advertising them to get you hooked up.

Give them a call and say “Jeff from Rosen Systems told me to call you first.”

I haven’t talked to them, nor do I work for Rosen Systems anymore… but, they’ll know exactly who I am

I am sick today, so I don’t want to call out of the blue. It’s been a while since I talked to them. See if they’ll be responsive since I sent you their way. I’m sure they will, as they gave me a $50 tip for a “thanks” just for doing my job… as well as invited my girlfriend and I to use their hot tub whenever we wished. (We never did… that’s kinda weird)

OH and let me know how it went! LOL

I haven’t talked to them in a while. Maybe I’ll give them a call soon, depending on how it went for you guys.

it was good, i don’t know how easily he could do mass quantities though b/c he dropped it off in a pickup. Call him and ask though, he was a good guy imo

Called Forrest Products today…

Interesting News…

$110/FC picked up only through Saturday; then they are closing for the season.

And there is going to be some serious issues next year with wood due to the EPA putting restrictions on importing wood from other states due to some bug that’s killing trees and has moved into PA; and they trying to prevent it from moving into NY.

Just and FYI for you all.

Asian Longhorned Beetle.

Can you really heat a house using only a fireplace?I was always told that fireplaces are very inefficient as most of the heat goes up the stack.A wood burning stove is totally different as it is more “in the room”.Like it was said above,I’ve heard 15 cords average for the winter X $80=$1,200.From Oct-April my Gas bill in a 4,000 sqft house with a 1970 furnace was approx $1,800 and that’s including my cooking and hot water as well.My normal non heating month gas bill is about $50.Subtract $300 from the $1,800 and you get $1,500 to hea the house for the winter.Unless you get the wood for free,I don’t know why anyone uses wood as it costs close to the same amount but sooooo much more work and alot dirtier.Just set it and forget it!!!
Kind of like the people who buy a 2nd car to save on gas, when all is factored it in costs just as much or more unless you’re driving 25K+ a yr or have a H2

I spend like $120/yr on firewood; and save probably $200-$300 over the winter; I use it on weekends when we’re home so we don’t have to “turn the heat up”; and the furnace only maintains the house at a specific temperature.

if anyone wants their chimney cleaned before winter contact me… I’ve been cleaning chimneys for about 8 years. 2 full time and 6 on the side… Give me a PM and I’ll call you
