upon consulting the guy who i was going to have do my engine work, he said the solution to my motor may be to just re-finish the crank, put new rod bearings in and call it a day. OR, he said i may need a whole new crank, new rods, bearings, lifters, and depending how much metal was actually in the oil, it may have scratched the cylender walls and/or fucked up the oil pump, which would require the whole block to need to be honed and whatnot. so basically, he said it might cost me as little as $700, or as much as $2500. and theres no way of telling unless he can take the motor apart and see. so basically, once he gets it theres no tuning back.
now, let say i am going to trade my truck in :snky: on something, the dealer obviously has no way of knowing if the motor is the original one or not, no do they prob care. if im gonna put a junkyard motor on (prefferably with lower miles so it looks good, how much am i looking at spending and where are some good junkyards that i could obtain a Dodge Magnum 306?
