I filed for bankruptcy a while back and the lawyer told me to hold off on opening a bank account. Well my taxes came in and have to cash the checks.
Where can i go to do this? Will any bank do this for me?

you can try wegman’s or tops. I believe when I got my very first tax refund I didn’t have a bank account and had to go there.
Wegmans will not do it, only payroll checks.
Yeah i thought tops had the same rules as wegmans so didnt bother calling them. maybe i will double check.

Thats the way it is suppose to be. I had to call and file a claim. So now have to wait 6 weeks to find out where my check is.

No, they do it for free. The $3.00 you’re seeing is cashier’s hourly wage.
Walmart does not cash them in n.y yet.
