I just filled my Mustang up with 91 at Noco on rt. 5 in LA. Does the Irving reservation have any? I’m close to them but haven’t looked around.
Still subjective. But after filling my Mini with the 91 from Delta Sonic the first time I did more city driving then normal, but still averaged around the same. Yesterday I refilled and did some long highway driving. I was getting as much millage, if not better, at 72 as I normally get at 60. Which says a lot because normally above 65 my millage drops off significantly, the Mini isn’t the most aerodynamic design. If it weren’t for being stuck behind traffic that couldn’t make up its mind between 50 and 65 MPH I likely would have hit an average fuel economy of somewhere between 38-40 real MPG.
I haven’t had a tank of normal driving habits yet. The last two were far from it. But it seems to make an almost inconsequential difference in city driving, but a noticeable difference in highway.
So right now I am at 37.4 MPG (Car Calculated) from Highway/Rural driving. This included several aggressive passes which at one point dropped my average down .4 MPG in one pass. It peaked at 38 (car calculated) MPG.
In past drives to Rochester using 93 octane (Sunoco) averaging at around 70 MPH I would get 32-33 (Car Calculated)
Not sure how much people care. But figured I would post my results so far.
The old 2 stroke will not like ethanol. Good to know!
Rant on…
I had all my gas cans empty so I figured I would go to Keystone in Arcade to get some pure gasoline. As I leave the house I realize the Ferd won’t make it that far so I stop at the corner to get some diesel and of course it takes forevAr because the shit hole gas station sucks. I get to Keystone at 9:01pm and they just closed so I continue to Valero in freedom and the place is a ghost town! Holy crap they roll up the sidewalks down there pretty early. Oh, and there were about 10 friggen cops between Wales and Arcade, you know, where the speed limit changes 10 times so you never really know if you are speeding. WTF?!?
Rant off.

And why can’t I get 93 octane?
Noco at north french and campbell in Amherst has ethanol free super unleaded
you are describing why I lived in Boston NY for a total of 4 months one summer. couldn’t do it.
Silly. They have ethanol free 91 in good ole Spingville at the Country Fair/Citgo station at the corner of 39 & old 219. You can’t get 93 because it has ethanols in it. Don’t be diss’n Wales. Knomsayin?
Yeah Paul B told me they have it. :picard:
I want 93 without ethanol dammit!
bump - so i understand e0 91 may get me better mpgs over e10 93, but e10 won’t really hurt modern cars…what about for turbo cars? does ethanol benefit performance at all? is there any advantage to one over the other?
KC
I am wondering the same thing, I just put 91 e free in my Cayenne but it has a 93 oct tune. I have been told that ethanol is not good for any parts on any cars… not just chainsaws, snowmobiles, etc.
I heard more so just the small engines’ gaskets and seals its not great for - so if you can, its best for jet skis, motorcycles, lawn equipment, etc etc - cars however are built to run on E10, so there is no harm done, but e0 will net you better MPGs…but now i think i read that turbo cars respond better to ethanol performance wise?? not positive saw it on another forum, was looking for a little more science behind it as proof
I heard p3 with ethanol is better than 91 ethanol free. Well for turbo cars i would say. But in my lawn mower i ised ethanol free.
Yeah, if tuned accordingly E85 gets big powa on turbo cars.
I just paid a premium for the ethanol free for my NA car, probably not worth it.
I usually use NOCO 91 in the BMW since it is ethanol free and says it blatant on the pump.
