i got the passport 8500 x50 and it works really good. I had no problem making the choice between the 8500 and v1 because of the price i got the 8500 for brand new.

If other radar detectors had the arrows, I might shop around. I’ve owned a v1 for about 4-5 years now, and the arrows mean everything.

I’ll also add that I have only gotten one speeding ticket with a v1, and that was on a very hilly country road, cresting a large hill with a trooper going the other way with instant on.
