Who all has autocrossed B4???

I only went twice and I really liked it. There is a lot of skill and thinking ahead involved. I would have to say I liked it better than drag racing…you don’t get to go as fast but the runs are a lot longer and a little bit funner. Who else autocrosses and where do you go? I went to NP.

check the auto X forum!

damn n00bs can’t even get in the right forum. Was the hair from you’re mullet getting in the way?

Me me me. But I live in Cali now and AutoX out here. I should be goin’ again this Saturday.

I agree, for me it’s a ton more fun than drag racing. Then again, my car isn’t very fast so I’m sure drag racing would be more fun w/ a quick car.

On the Street Wheels:

On the Race Wheels:

I auto xed up at state college scca pretty fun i got 2nd and i couldve won but i didnt get another run in the round. Then my trany temps rose to 21 soi had to cancell my last 3 uns in the second half. but it was fun. i still prefer drag racing though

BTW… what class did you run? I believe your cam moves you up to Street Mod which usually has some pretty stiff competition. Not being on R compound placing second in any class is great… but SM usually has some really hot shit.

novice  but i ran against a modded m3 w/ a driver whose done it 3 times b4 and a wrx a evo 8 w/ cams intake exhaust and a coupkle other decent cars as well as junk slow cars. overall i got alotof compliments on how good i did for my first time out large part cause my car is quick and the track had a couple nice straight aways but being in 2nd gear pulled great the whole time !

Right on… didn’t remember that SCCA runs a novice class regardless of car. But a modded M3, Evo8 (Evos run ESP, my old class and are very competative… usualy my bigest challenge), and such are stiff competition. Nice work.

I go out to north park every now and again.

i’ve run Amanda’s Mini at BeaveRun… I got lost in the cones…

personally i like a road course better then autox…stretch the cars legs a bit.
and like shaler said…you can get lost i the cones…but its still fun.

I think it all depends on your personal preference and what your car is better at or setup to do.

I like all types of racing. I really want to try road racing. It is like the best of drag racing and autoX…lots of turns and high speed. The only thing that stopped me from road racing is the $$$.

Exactly. I can’t afford the ~$200 just for the track time. Then the $ for brakes and tires I’m going to eat up on a full tack day. Not yet at least.

autox is a very fast paced event. it does not have crazy fast top speeds, but makes up for it in lots of fast transitions.

if you walk the course and remember to look WAY ahead, you will not get lost on the course.

not to try and whore up another board, but if you need any info on local autox or track duty. just check out racepa.com, a large majority of the local autoxers and some of the nasa and scca road racing guys are on it regularly .

come out and race!
Jer

i mostly raced an 87 vette. WAY more fun than any civic IMHO. It was fun like 3-4 years ago until the big rice revolution hit, now North Park is rice infested…i’m going to try to get to Beaver Run or Nelsons b/f the summer is over.

you have a 87 vette now

have you ever raced a b18 civic with short gearing on 235 r compunds and a suspension set up for autox? there are virtually no riced out civics that race with us at north park ever. there might be a ton of rice watching from the field but they dont race. the emblem on the car has NOTHING to do with how fun it is to race.

anyways, nelson is a blast! i was there yesterday and actually put my hatch into a tirewall at about 70mph :bash: but it was still drivable luckily, and i finished the day. its a lot more fun than beaver imo.

I have never setup a civic that far into it and actually autox’d it. I would really like to though and hopefully someday it’ll happen!

I knew nelsons was going to be cool… i think my first goal is to get my celica alltrac out there. :blah:
